Luka.
Two hours later.
Damn.
Its early in the morning.I sluggishly throw my right hand to swat out the cringy alarm clock.I look at it, telling me it's seven in the morning,Sunday.
Finally,I thought I wouldn't get a day off again.
I look at the ceiling, thinking of how to kick off my day.
"Lets see.I still have to finish delivering diamonds to two buyers.... That call from Clyde, he must be pissed since I haven't spoken to him for days. And I have to take my pay up from my dealer."
Okay. That pretty much covers my day.
I try to grab my phone to text Clyde but I don't feel it in the lamp table next to me.
What the hell?
I get up from my bed and search my jacket pockets to see where it was, onlu to see nothing but a few francs.
Where in black bells did I put it?
Apparently, not in my house obviously.
Okay Couffaine, retrace my steps since yesterday.
I sat down and try to regroup my mind.
I was at the open market, the arts center, the movies, the Seine, the detour at Andre's, the pier and at Bluebell's place.
The last time I held my phone was before we reached the pier.
So that leaves out the pier and Bluebell's place.
Guess that my work is cut out for me.
Dressing up,I walked down to the pier.Lucky for me, the ship I sailed in was still there.I searched for Old Joe but he wasn't present at the time, so I searched the ship myself.
About thirty minutes later.
After looking around almost every part of the ship, I went up the main deck and looked at the lost and found box.
Nothing.
I nearly give up and head out of the ship, only to see Old Joe accompanied by.....
Oh shit!
I try to evade them without them seeing my face by heading to the lower decks.I still hear them ascending to the main deck.
"You mean he was here and you didn't think to tell me sooner!" I hear her voice in the background.
"I'm telling you now!" Old Joe snorts.
Careful Joe. I won't snort back if I were you.
"Forget it.Whats my business here?I don't have all day...."
"Friggin turn wheel gets stuck every now and then..."
I didn't stick around long enough to hear them out as I made my grand escape and left the pier with immediate effect.
Close. Very close.
I sighed as I saw the pier in the distance.
Not today, you old hag.Not today.
I went back to my trailer to have myself a cup of black coffee, and a dose of relax after nearly meeting her.Okay back at the task at hand.
So that leaves Bluebell.
