(Mystery P.O.V)
I made a friend. I didn't think I would. I noticed that he was still wearing his cuffs.
"Do you want me to take them off?"
"Huh?"
"Your cuffs. I can take them off."
"U-Umm... I'm not sure you can."
"Why? Think I can't take them off?"
"No... I think someone's watching us."
He turns around and points at a girl. It was one of the girls I saw when I woke up. The black-haired girl was the one staring at us. She noticed that we noticed that she was looking at us, and she looked away.
"I see what you mean."
"That's why I think it's best you don't take them off..."
I took them off regardless of what he told me.
"R-Really?"
"Yep."
"Mmm..."
"Well?"
He rubbed his wrists.
"Thanks... They hurt a lot. I can't remember the last time I didn't have to wear them."
"They keep you cuffed at night?"
"I stayed cuffed even when I'm asleep."
"Jesus."
"Yeah... Thanks for taking them off."
"No problem."
"Now come on, let's go!"
I grabbed his hand and proceeded to drag his around the cafeteria.
"H-Hey!"
"Let's go and cause some chaos!"
(Cake P.O.V)
I saw the girl take off the boy's cuffs. She then proceeds to drag him around the cafeteria, planning to do who knows what! I wasn't sure whether or not I should tell my supervisors. I checked over my notes to learn a bit more about the boy and the girl while I was at it.
The boy is named Patient 101318. He is suicidal. He also has a supervisor named Lance. According to my notes, he must wear cuffs at all times. If seen without them or Lance is nowhere nearby, then report it to a guard.
The girl is Patient 040518. Cannibal. Murderer. Psychopath. Supposedly a famous criminal. No supervisor at the moment. May need cuffs. Be wary of her.
After I checked my notes, I put them away. The boy didn't have his cuffs on, and his supervisor was nowhere nearby. I am supposed to report to a guard if one of the two happened. While keeping an eye on both of them, I walked over to my supervisors, Taylor and Jacob.
"H-Hey..."
Taylor turned around.
"Who's there?"
She didn't see me at first until she looked down.
"Oh. It's you newbie."
"Umm... Hi..."
"What do you want? And make it snappy!"
"Ah! Umm... Well I-"
"Give the girl a break, Taylor!"
She rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. Now, what do you want?"
"I-I saw one of the patients without their cuffs or their supervisor..."
She seemed a bit shocked before going back to her serious look.
"Really?"
"Y-Yeah."
I looked behind me to see Patient 040518, and Patient 101318 was causing trouble.
"Cake!"
"Ah! Yes Ma'am. Wait... Shoot! I'm sorry."
I don't think I was supposed to call Taylor Ma'am.
She sighed.
"Whatever."
"Why did you turn around?" Jacob asked.
"I-I'm keeping an eye on the Patients!"
"Patients?"
"Well... The one without the cuffs and supervisor, Patient 101318, is with Patient 040518, and they seem to be causing trouble."
Jacob then ruffled my hair.
"Atta girl. You know exactly what you're doing. Learning the Patients numbers and keeping an eye on them."
"Umm... Yeah..."
I have no idea what I'm doing.
"You also seem to know what to do. Good for you," Taylor said.
"T-Thanks..."
"Now. Time to deal with those two."
I pointed in the direction they were in, and both Taylor and Jacob dealt with them. Taylor called me over to what I assumed was to inform me about something.
"Y-Yes Taylor?"
"Take this as good news. Take this as bad news. I don't care."
"H-Huh?"
"You are now both of these Patients supervisor."
"W-What?! No! I'm not ready!"
"Too bad. You better get ready. And good luck."
She took Patient 040518 to her cell, leaving me with Patient 101318. Jacob wasn't here as he went to find 101318's supervisor.
"S-So... Looks like I'm your supervisor now..."
He didn't respond. He only looked at me.
"..."
"..."
Well, this is great. Everything is fine. I'm not dying inside. Nope! Everything is just swelling!
"...Aren't you suppose to be taking me to my room now or something?"
"R-Right!"
I think. I honestly don't know what I'm doing. During training, the people training me never taught me what to do when it came to supervising.
I've only been here for a month. A month! At least guide me along the way instead of leaving me clueless.
I put that aside for now and took him to his cell.
