Okay so, imagine this. it's the last episode of season 15, you're staring at the TV in shock as you witness the biggest ship in this damn show, become canon. Dean and Cas are pouring their hearts out to each other, holding each other close. Dean is crying happy and sad tears, his brother is dead and isn't coming back and he's seeking comfort in the only family he has left. Jack is unable to be with them anymore as he has bigger duties to attend to. But, Dean and Cas are happy, so happy to be in each others arms at last. But then, just like that, Cas is gone, Dean falls to the ground no longer having his angel there to support him. Cas sits in the empty in shock, he screams to be let out until the Empty themselves puts him back to sleep. Dean, in the middle of nowhere, has screamed until his throat was raw, begging Cas to come back to him, For Sam to come back to him, but he knows it won't happen. So he cries for Billie, begs her to just kill him already. He has nothing to loose anymore. Dean finally passes out from exhaustion and opens his eyes to see Cas standing right infront of him. It takes a moment for him to realize this isn't his Castiel, this is not his angel. It's a memory. He's dead, and he's in heaven.
