Two

Sparks flew from the small fire lit in front of me. Yoongi went to hunt, and I can't stop him no matter what I say. We've been traveling for two days now, and the prison is supposedly over the next hill. The sun started setting a few minutes ago, Yoongi should be back soon with food.

Sitting around the campfire reminds me of life before the world ended. When me and my parents would go camping in our backyard, singing songs together. I smile remembering what my mom told me one night.

"Not everybody knows that they're lucky to be alive..." She would say looking into the flames. "Don't be one of the Y/n, or you'll have lost who you really are..."

She always knew what to say.

"Whatcha thinkin' about?" A voice breaks my peaceful silence. I whip my head around to see Yoongi carrying three rabbits, with a small smile on his face as he tosses the rabbits down beside me.

I shrug at his question. "Just stuff..." I say lightly, not wanting to go into anything specific at the moment.

"Mhm, stuff." He says rhetorically. Sitting beside me, he starts to skin and pull the rabbits apart to cook the meat. "So I also wanted to scope out the prison a bit, and it doesn't look too bad. Maybe a couple dozen walkers, but nothing we can't handle."

"Well what about the inside? I guarantee there's more in the cells and stuff." I say poking at the fire with a stick.

"What's with you and saying stuff today?" He says laughing lightly at my choice of vocabulary.

"Well sorry I don't know what a prison looks like!" I say laughing and punching Yoongi's arm. The two of us laughed as we cooked our first dinner for around a week.

"Hey Y/n... can I ask you something?" Yoongi says turning his body to face mine entirely. I do the same, putting my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands.

"Yes my little baby Yoongles." I say reaching out a hand to pinch his cheek softly. His face dusts pink, which is weird. He turns his head to the ground before looking up to meet my gaze with teary eyes. "Yoongi... what's wrong?" I cup his face with my hands, worry plastered all over my face. His hand reaches up to hold mine on his face.

"Never did I know that by saving your life that day... I'd find my best friend..." He says taking my hand in his and intertwining our fingers. "You know I told you that I never really had a family before all of this... that's why I was on my own before I met you..." Yoongi holds my hand in his, looking at me with tears starting to fall from his eyes. "And then when I met you... I finally realized what it meant to have a family..." At this point I had tears streaming down my face at his words. I lost everyone I cared about in one night in front of my eyes, but Yoongi never had anyone to lose in the first place. "I remember the day that I found you. When I looked in your eyes... I saw myself. But I didn't want you to turn out how I did. That's why I saved you, why I taught you everything you know, and why I want to call you my real blood sister." Yoongi whispers, holding my face trying to wipe the tears on my face that won't stop.

"Yoongi... I've always considered you to be my brother, since the first day you told me you would always be there for me." I say fully crying and pulling him into a hug.

"I love you Y/n..."He whispers into my now wet neck because of his tears.

"I love you too Min Yoongi..." I whisper back before closing my eyes and enjoying this moment.

After what feels like a short eternity, we pull away from each other and look towards the now dark sky. Stars shone against the navy black ink stretching as far as the eye can see. The two of us climb into the huge tree to sleep. We tie together some loose branches to make a small platform big enough for the two of us to sleep on. I hang my jacket and bag on the low hanging branch next to me before pulling out the pictures that have been in my jacket for 6 years. The smiling faces of my parents were barely visible in the dim moonlight, but I had practically memorised their faces. It was hard to remember after 6 years, but I know I can't just forget them, but it's hard when I haven't seen them in so long. The other picture, me and my best friend in a photobooth. He even kissed my cheek for a picture...

"I wonder if he's still alive..." I say quietly, not taking my eyes away from the picture as Yoongi climbs next to me on our little platform. Yoongi hums in agreeance, laying down beside me resting his head on my shoulder. In a few short minutes I can hear soft snores coming from Yoongi, his lips parted with an adorable pout and eyes closed with thick eyelashes shielding them. I brush his surprisingly soft hair away from his forehead and plant a soft kiss on his milky white skin. His face turns into a soft smile as he wraps his arms around me, pulling my body into his making my head rest on his chest. I smile softly and bury my face into his chest, wrapping my arms around his waist. And here I felt safe, warm, and at home.

My eyes were heavy, sleep easily could take control of my body. I open my eyes to darkness, the feeling of my eyelids remaining closed lingering on my senses. A soft breeze echoed in the distance, waving the loose strands of my hair in it's path. The sound of faint whispers met my ears, from somewhere so far away. I had no control over my body, my feet carrying me faster and faster in the middle of this dark abyss. Until I can see.

A faint light glows from above me. Millions of pale particles stretch across the sky, glimmering their beauty in front of my eyes. And there, plastered amongst each of the glittering stars, sat the milky queen of the night. Her faint light shone down, through the barren trees that have only now to appear. The light, though only slightly present, made my skin tingle like sparks were emitting from my body at the slight touch of it. The light slowly brightened, but only dimly, luminating a narrow path directly in front of my feet, leading to a clearing lit brighter with a dark figure standing in the center of the clearing. The person turned to face me, taking what felt like an eternity. His face was pale, but full of life, and beautiful in the luminescent light of the moon. His strong body seemed to be calling to hold me, feeling so close, but miles away. I feel like I know everything about him, his past, his present, and his future. My feet carry me towards him with wary steps, and I don't hesitate to give in to them this time. Steadily I gain speed, soon running to finally be in his arms. My feet carry me faster and faster trying to reach him. The path extends out in front of me, the man falling farther and farther away from me the farther I run. His silky voice calls out to me, echoing like a whisper in my ear, getting louder and louder and louder. I call out to him, even though I can't hear any of my calls. The world starts to darken around me, the stars and moon glitching away into the darkness. A piercing scream shatters the sound of my feet running below me, my body julting to an abrupt stop. My head jerks around looking for source, but my eyes are only met with darkness. The ground begins to crumble beneath my feet, my legs giving out from under me. The dark abyss gives way into a pit that seems like it goes on forever, and down I fall.
