In a place where streams of orange and red kiss you, she sat on the soft sand and faced the unknown.
She thought of her messed up life and pondered on her struggles.
She remembered when she was drowning, watching herself crumble and falling apart with no one to grab onto but herself.
She remembered when her dreams died to cope up with the world, when she broke herself just to save someone else and when she gave too much and left nothing for herself.
She remembered all the things that broke her and felt it fall against her cheeks. She can hardly count the times where she had to wipe her own tears and feel her heart break inside her chest, crushing her soul and the tiny bit of hope that she was holding onto for so long.
She never told anyone about how she felt and always tried to face it in silence. Besides, she had no one else to talk to but the moon and the sunset that comforted her when she needed a friend.
She grabbed her mirror from her bag and faced the person that made her struggle everyday. Her eyes were dull and blank with dark circles surrounding it. She lost the fire inside her eyes that were once filled with hope and burning passion. She hated the sight so much that she threw the mirror to the waves and broke into tears.
She was lonely, craving for warmth that she never received from the people she needed the most, until someone came and wiped her tears.
He arrived just as she was about to forget the world and escape into the unknown.
His eyes reminded her of the ocean of lies that she drowned in just to tell the world that she's okay.
His words reminded her of the exact same ones that she told the world but forgot to tell herself.
His presence reminded her of the ones that left her when she was drowning.
But even though he reminded her of everything that made her lose her faith, she held on. Because despite of everything that he reminded her of, he made her feel complete, that she no longer needs to find her place, that she's no longer alone. He became her strength and her weakness at the same time.
She still had doubts and fears but whenever she's with him, all the darkness in the world seem to vanish.
She finally felt at peace.
