"You are confined to the castle that is final. You can go out into the village when you get a bodyguard." My father ordered. "But father, I need to see other parts of our kingdom." I protested. "There have been reports of dragons in the mountain woods, my lady... it is best you listen to your father. "The head of the royal knights explained.

"Then teach me how to use a sword or go with me!" I demand.  "Levy, Metalicana doesn't have that kind of time to play with you." My father turned to me. His vision for me was to keep me locked in the Castel or always have a man by my side. I hated his idea.

"Then I'm going alone." I spat out. "Levy, you are getting a bodyguard, or else you will be put in the prison. At least there, I can keep you in one spot." My father yelled. He wanted me to have a babysitter? Fine. I'll get one. The worst one I can think of. "Fine. Under the condition that I'm going to pick him out myself." I cross my arms.

We walk to a nearby window and look down to see the knights training. There was a group of knights that looked like they were slacking off. They had different colored armor than the rest of the knights. There was one in red I recognized for my chamber maids' stories. Natsu, I think it was? He had pink salmon colored hair, and Lucy could not stop talking about watching him train. Maybe not. She may be too shy to come in to talk to me if he's there.

Another in white with blonde hair, he looked a little too pure to be a rule breaker like I need. One in black with black hair, but it looked like he was trying to get everyone to work again.
Another in purple sharpening his sword, with one in yellow ordering two lower ranking knights to pull some kind of sand bag. The one in a black metallic set of amor he had started a fight with the pink haired Natsu and even got another knight that was in blue fighting as well.

"I want him." I pointed him out. Metalicana came to the window and looked. His face went cold. "Gajeel? Are you sure, my lady?" He asked. "Your boy?" My father cut in. "Yes, your highness. That is Gajeel blacksteel Redfox. He is the top on his class in sword and hand to hand combat." He bowed to my father.

Great. He only looks the part of a bad boy. I mentally slap myself for my choice. I picked "Good. Then I agree with your choice, Levy. Metalicana will take you down to meet him now." My father waved us out of the room. "Lady Levy. If my boy gives you any trouble. Tell me. I'll fix him for you." Metalicana said was we walk to the training yard.

"Oi! Old man. What are you doing here so early? Shouldn't you be havin' tea with the king right now?" The man called 'Gajeel' laughed. The other knights start to laugh as well. "Silence boy, and fix that ugly face. You have a private request from the King. Metalicana ordered. "Me? Gi-hee~ that'll be the day." He crossed his arms.

"The princess needs a bodyguard. You were chosen." Metalicana stapped aside, revealing me to the knights. Gajeel took off his helmet and stared at me. Jet black hair fell to his back side, and he had multiple face pricings. I could swear that I saw his crimson eyes flash sliver. In a second, Metalicana was in front of me again. "Don't tell me, boy... is she..." he almost whispers. This almost oddly beautiful man nodded. "Yeah." He got out.

Gajeel took another step forward, and his eye flashed sliver again. The knights in his training group looked ready to attack him for some reason, but Metalicana holted them. "Gajeel. Will you be able to do this?" He asked. What's going on? Does this mean he can't stand me? Normally, I wouldn't care, but this kind of hurt for some reason.

"If he doesn't want to, I can pick someone else." I looked at the others. "NO! I'm fine. I'll do it." Gajeel huffed, rubbing his neck. The other knights looked at each and then at Gajeel again. "I'm fine idiots." He shook his head.

"Then fix your face and get to work. Don't do anything stupid, boy." Metalicana ordered. "Old man, the shirmp is safe with me." Gajeel relied.
"Wait..shirmp?" Does he mean me? I huff and step closer. Gajeel breathes out slowly. "Yeah, you're tiny like a shirmp, so that's what I'm gunna to call you." Gajeel crossed his arms.

"Enough Gajeel. Get into the castle and get to work. The rest of you slackers, get back to training." Metalicana ordered. "Aye, sir!" They all salute.

We walk into the castle and I decide, i want to go to the library. I head over with Gajeel walking 6 feet behind me. "What's taking you so long?" I turn around. "Nothin' just guarding you from back here." Gajeel replied. "Let's go faster. I want to get to the library before it closes." I walk up to him and pull him by his wrist. We quickly get out of the castle (unnoticed) and walk towards the village. Gajeel pulls away from me. "You're not scared of me, are you?" I almost laugh.

"No! Maybe you should be scared of me." He smirked. I stop.  "And why is that so, Sir Knight?" I challenged him. He looked at me with what looked as if his eyes were hungry. "Cause I may eat you." He said flatly. I paused, and something ran through me. Not fear, not anger, what was this? He shakes his head and laughs, "I'm joking shirmp. I meant cause most women run the other way when they see me." He explained.

I shrugged. " I'm not most women." A ring of a bell broke our gaze from each other. "There's your village and your library. " Gajeel pointed towards a little brown building as we walked into view.
