The next two weeks were pure bliss. I hadn't been this happy in months.
It was a Friday night and the girls and I were hanging out at Margo's place.
I was braiding Dodie's hair, "How are you and Mark doing?" I ask.
"We're doing great." she says smiling to herself. "How about you and Ansel?" she asks.
"We're doing amazing." I say, unable to hide my feelings.
Margo smiles, "I'm really happy for you Lou, you deserve this." she says, grabbing my hand.
"Thank you Margo." I say, genuinely.
"Are you getting nervous about the play? Its in two weeks right?" Paige says, looking over from the TV. We are watching Clueless, which reminds me of Ansel.
"Um, I was at first but after all this rehearsing I'm feeling a lot more confident. Hugh said he likes my 'Rizzo' more than Stockard Channing's." I say, smiling to myself.
"You guys are such nerds."Margo says laughing.
'Hey!" I say as I throw a pillow at her. "That's the best compliment somebody has ever given me."
"How is Hugh by the way?" Dodie asks. "I think he and Mark are hanging out tonight."
"He's good I think, We haven't been hanging out as much recently, but we're going to see Rocky Horror tomorrow." I say.
"I'll never understand how you can watch that God awful movie over and over again!" Dodie says.
"It just reminds me of my dad." I say, smiling at the memory of us time-warping in the living room.
"She knows that." Margo says, stroking my hair as she gives Dodie a death stare.
I begin drifting off on the couch when my phone goes off.
Ansel's face pops up on my screen.
"Hey babe." I answer.
Margo and Paige exchange looks and roll their eyes at my pet name. I try to hide my laugh.
"Hey Lou." he says.
"What's up?" I ask.
"I just wanted to hear your voice." he says. His voice is raspy, like he had just woken up.
I feel my face get red. "Well, that's adorable." I say.
"You're adorable." he whispers.
"You're blind." I say laughing.
"Twenty-twenty vision babe." he says and I giggle.
"Goodnight Ansel."
"Goodnight Louisa."
"That was adorable." Dodie says.
"He told me he loved me." I say and Margo's eyes grow wide.
Paige and Dodie shoot up from the couch.
"What! When?" Dodie asks.
"Two weeks ago." I say.
"And you're just telling us this now?" she yells.
"I'm sorry!" I yell.
"Did you say it back?" Margo asks.
"Not yet." I say. All of their eyes grow wide.
"Do you love him?" Paige asks.
"I'm not sure! We've literally only been dating officially for two weeks! I don't even know what being in love feels like." I say, shrugging.
