Survived, but different than before [Citizen Z/Simon X Reader]

I'm so sorry it took me so long to update again! I just got over my writers block and will hopefully be able to post more, I'm sorry it took so long though and that I never said anything. But I hope you still enjoy this new update, and sorry if some of the things like conversations are different from whats in the actual show, I have to go off memory. Anyway, sorry and enjoy. 

It was the day after we had learned the news about Hammons death. Simon still seemed a bit upset hearing about Hammons passing but he seemed reassured knowing that someone else was going to take on his job of taking Murphy to California. The night before Simon had done a type of broadcast over the radio about Hammon and what a great man he was. You ended up feeling bad for him so carefully went up to him from behind and put your hands on his shoulders and started rubbing them in comfort.

"I'm sorry to hear about your friends passing. He also seemed to have an important job, so it's good that someone else picked up on it." You said softly trying to cheer him up. Simon looked at you noticing what you were trying to do and nodded with a small smile, seeming to remember something.

"You were always like this before as well. Always so nice and kind, trying to be positive and keep everyone happy and in a good mood." He said and that made you stop for a few seconds in your movement before looking off to the side and continuing.

"Is that so?" You whispered.

"You can sit down if you want." He said motioning to the chair next to him. You looked towards the chair before nodding and going over to it and sitting down while looking at the screens that seemed to be everywhere with a bunch of different things on and open on each one. The main one he was working on that he had opened was with cameras because he was looking for Delta X Ray Delta. It was a little easier for him since he looked into the two people he talked to before and got what they looked like, and he knew what Murphy looked like as well, so he could spot them in the cameras.

"Any luck finding them?" You asked and he shook his head and you sadly sighed before getting up and going over to the food supplies. You grabbed something for the both of you and put some food in the dogs bowl as well.

"Found them!" Simon suddenly happily exclaimed. You looked up from the ground and quickly grabbed the cans and ran over to him and stood behind him. On the screen in the camera you could see around 7 people one, a guy, was a little ways off from them with gallons of gasoline. Simon quickly started calling the public phone that was next to them. They quickly glanced at each other before Garnet went in and answered it.

'.....Hello....'

"Lieutenant Garnet! Delta X Ray Delta, its Citizen Z! Good to finally get to you guys! How's the package?" Simon asked and you looked at him questiongly for two different reasons, he has a camera, why can't he just check on Murphy himself? And then also, why did he use a different name then what he told you? And that's when you noticed on the camera, you didn't see Murphy anywhere.

'He's doing great' Garnet said, but it kinda sounded sarcastic, but you sighed in relief and sat down in the chair next to Simon and slid a can of food towards Simon.

"That's good to hear, can I talk to him?" Simon asked happily.

'Uh, yea sure...' It went quiet for a while until a different voice spoke up through the phone.

'Uh... hello?"

"Murphy! It's great to hear from you! You sound great! How are you doing?" Simon asked.

'Well other than the bites, being hauled around everywhere and being the savior of the world with having the cure in my blood, I'm doing great!' Murphy said sarcastically and you slightly laughed at him.

"Yea that does sound rough." Simon said and then suddenly Garnet's voice came through again.

'Sorry to cut this short but we need to go, can you help us with a way out?' After which Simon agreed, he gave them an easy way out with no zombies and they quickly left and in turn you turned to the slightly pleased Simon with a serious curious question.

"Why did you lie to them about your name and give a fake one?"
