I ran as fast as I could after getting away from the Aztec guards, I ran strait for the water. Because I lived in Egypt, I was able to learn how to swim. A spear flew past my ear barely nicking my hair as I jumped in the water.

The water felt like a million ice cold needles stabbing into my face all at once. I lost my breath and swam to the surface to get more air for my lungs, because they were starting to burn with the lack of movement.

As I popped out of the water, I heard a scream from the gardens on the beach. I swam as fast as I could away from the screaming to a small island with a couple of trees for me to hide behind. The screaming came from a farmer's family.

When I got to the island and behind the trees I froze, I saw a guard standing before me he looked about 17 with blond hair and deep blue eyes. He looked at me and asked me what my name was.

I just looked at him, then he took a step forward, I jumped back. "Don't be scared," he told me. "I'm not here to hurt you." I turned, thinking to run, but stopped and spun back around.

For some reason, I trusted him and I wanted to go to him he told me his people would be coming to the island very soon and if they saw me they would kill me.

"Can you help me?" I asked. He told me that there is a boat on the other side of the island. "If we hurry, I can hide you in it."

"How do I know you won't kill me?" I asked suspiciously. He grabbed my hand and rushed me to the boat. When we got there I jumped in and we sailed right back to the Aztec city.

I asked him why we were going back to the Aztec city he told me, "If we run they will find us. I will take you back and hide you until my recruits have gone. Then you must get out of the Aztec city, and back to Egypt." "But I don't know the way," I argued.

As we arrived at the Aztec city he asked me what I was doing here. "Well my sister was trying to kill me so she could become queen, but I escaped by getting on a boat. I had then realized that the boat was sailing to the Aztec city and I had been seen by someone.

"They took me hostage and put me in your dungeon. I was able to get out but some one saw me and raised the alarm. But they found a farm girl who obviously looked like me. I don't know what will happen to her, and that is when I ran in to you." I got off the boat and he took me to a small shack that looked abandoned.

It was silent. All I could hear was the soldier saying that I got away and even that sound was dim. Finely I went to sleep but I was awakened by an old beggar man who was picking at my jewels that were hooked to my dress. At first he startled me but then I asked what he was doing and he jumped up and ran out. I sat up and looked around. Before I could remember what happened, I looked out a hole in the door to see it was morning. I went out and looked around. It was a horrible sight that reminded me of that night before. Every thing looked crushed or broken and destroyed. Then I remembered the man who helped me and I felt weak, since I could not see his face, for he was the only one who had cared for me.

I ran through the city trying to find an exit or the man who helped me. I didn't even know his name everything was quiet. The silence was broken by a small sound. It sounded like someone was begging for his life. Then I saw it.

Soldiers were cutting through people like wheat, killing anyone who refused to tell them where "the girl" was. I quickly hid behind a barrel as they passed by me. I was silent when a hand grabbed me. I started screaming and turned around to see the boy who saved me, but it was too late. The guards had already heard my scream and had turned around. I stopped screaming, quickly jumping up to run after the blond who had started running before me. "Stop, stop!" the guards yelled. We ran up the road and through all sorts of houses and dove in to a near by lake as the guards ran past use. "Hurry! She went this way!"
