Five years later
Stella would graduate from pharmacy school during summer. She was very excited, her father came back home a year ago. Even though it was awkward picking up from where he left coupled with the fact that she was always in school and always had clinical practice during little breaks. He visited her regularly and always took her to the cafe where she would talk continuously about school's hard days, or to the cinema on weekends where they watched movie marathon.
Her brother's wedding was also after her graduation and she looked forward to it.
Today she sat in her room and looked through her old stuffs, she came across a very soft toy, it was a bee, she remembered a funfair she attended in junior school with her best friend Louisa and they both decided to get bee toys for themselves as a reminder of their friendship, and also something to hold unto. She held the toy close, everyday she thought of her,and prayed also, Louisa never sent her an email since then. She hoped she was still okay and alive. As if her heart spoke to her and as if on impulse, she walked to her study area and sat in front of her open laptop. She started going through her unread emails. She stumbled across one which didn't seem like her regular emails from school and the little people she knew. It was titled ''bee'' and it came in two days ago.
She opened it and read through dwelling on each word and feeling elated with each sentence.Stella bee
Where do I start
First of all, I need to apologise for writing layer than I am expected to
I feel like a very bad friend now
Please do forgive me.
How are you? And how is everyone in your house?
I never forgot this email address, I made it a point of duty to memorise it and lock it up somewhere in my head after we both registered. Why?
Probably I knew it would end up like this.
I'm okey, I really am. And I thank you for helping me out through it all. I can never be less grateful to you and friends like you are very rare, and I'm lucky to be one of the few people to have one.
It was very hard starting over here, and each day I would cry and wish I hadn't left, but there was no better option and I'm glad I stuck up till the end. I'm now on the university and studying psychology to help other through their rough lives. And I found an excellent family in school. My course adviser is the nicest woman ever and she takes care of me well. I'm so grateful and I knew this was your prayer for me. I hope you are studying your dream course and if so, I know you would be graduating this year, I've always prayed for you everyday and I won't stop and I hope you would have someone that would be able to sacrifice as much for you as you did for me.
I have written to my Aunt Mirabel and she knows I'm okey, she even comes to visit sometimes and she hasn't told mother and Mario yet, she has forgiven you and she loves you more for helping me.
I would write to mother and Mario soon. And probably reconnect with them, cos there's nothing better than family.
I love you and I hope you continue to stay happy.By the time Stella finished the letter tears filled her eyes. Her heart danced with joy and she read the letter again and again and treasured every word. She was happy. Everything worked out fine. Mario went back to school, even though he had to start off at another college. And fidelia opened a new store not far from her house and according to her mother, had been sober ever since.
Sometimes our little mistakes and actions and bring such beautiful effects.
