Chapter 3: Strange Love

Note that some parts of the manga will be left out for the purpose of this x reader because Tatara is not as main in certain manga chapters. Some scenes may be made-up.

It was February 20th at 15:20pm and (Y/N) plus HOMRA was out playing baseball. The sun was beaming and everyone was excited to be out having fun. However, there was something quite off about the situation. “Chitose, what's wrong?” Tatara asked, “Are you tired?” The brown haired man turned to face the camera before covering its lenses with his hand. Chitose quietly mumbled, “Stop it now. You can do it when I'm more good-looking.”
“Did something happen?” questioned Tatara, still filming the poor guy. In front of Tatara, stood Anna and (Y/N). They were too busy watching the little match between the members with intent, not noticing the bickering behind them. Chitose rested his head on the palm of his hand saying, “Ah… well… popular guys have a lot to handle… you see.”

Next up was Suoh's turn to bat. Yata's facial expression creased to a shock in horror one as everyone knew just how athletic the King was. In a blink of an eye, the ball flew past the horizon into possibly a building miles away from where they were. He didn't even try. (Y/N) looked at Anna then shifted her gaze to Chitose. Anna whispered, “... that person was so sad.” He looked back at them confused. Anna stared at Chitose through her blood-red marbles and told him not to die. (Y/N) felt shivers down her spine when she heard the words spoken. She slowly turned to face Tatara, who was unknown to what just happened but was yet smiling and filming the group playing baseball. Next up after Suoh was Chitose who was unable to ask Anna what she had meant a few seconds ago. Brushing it aside he hit the ball. CLANG! The ball shot past Yata and Bando, which was way off to the side. “AH!! WATCH OUT!!” voices screamed as the ball flew at a quick pace towards a woman. To everyone's dismay, the ball was caught by her with one hand. She was slim, had long black hair and she wore a blazer jacket. She squeezed the ball with ease until it blew apart. The four words slipped out of her mouth, “I found you, Chitose-kun.”

Chitose looked startled as the woman lunged forward at him with her razor-sharp nails. “How lively-” stated Tatara whilst videoing the situation with eagerness but was cut off when everything was torn apart in half within an instant. The brown haired male dashed off with worry. HOMRA quickly evacuated the damaged area. Meanwhile, Tatara and Dewa ran off to save Chitose from the crazed person who was out for blood. Therefore, Anna was left in the care of (Y/N). “Do you think they will be alright?” questioned Anna. (Y/N) replied with a smirk of irritation on her face, “Who knows, but after all if the innocents (Tatara and Dewa) were to be taken down too… Chitose is to blame.”

As Chitose was sprinting, he was pulled off the ground into an alleyway where Tatara signalled him to be silent. He couldn't utter a sound as Dewa covered his mouth tightly to protect his stubborn soul. The black haired woman walked past the narrow gap, rhetorically asking where Chitose had run off to. (Y/N) held Anna's hand to walk her back to the bar after the incident. The (E/C) girl turned to face Kusanagi, “Before I go, how about we get an update?”
“Oh right, good point,” Kusanagi agreed as he dialled in Tatara's number. On the other side of the phone a voice spoke out enthusiastically, “Ah, Kusanagi-san?”
“Is Chitose still alive?” Kusanagi asked curiously. Tatara replied saying how Chitose was still alive and breathing. Suddenly, shockwaves flooded over the three men as a deep voice spoke, “Yo. Want me to save you?” They knew immediately who it was. It was Suoh. The red-head was in such a great mood. Chitose was like a robot, stiff but still talking about how he will find a solution himself. Kusanagi gave the victim some info about this girl. Funnily, it turned out to be a troublesome disaster that Chitose got himself in. She is a infamous assassin that is also a strain, “Yubikiri Maria” is her nickname. Rumors came around about how her clients who break their promises will be killed. She is really feared by others. Turns out that she doesn't kill good citizens, so Chitose really got himself in trouble after doing it with her after getting helplessly drunk… he has no memory of it.
