It was the start of a pleasant Monday morning. The white, wispy clouds floated around covering the flawless blue sky on the way. The reflection of this perfect weather could be seen on the glass windows of elevated, brick buildings, standing as guards on both sides of the street, casting their shadow on the road.
Tall street lights proportionally divided the street in two. Brown, vintage lamps caused the Strand Palace hotel to stand out in the bustling street. The gift shop to its left was decorated with colourful flower pots, bringing happiness to one’s eyes.
Sweet aroma of freshly baked cookies, found an escape through the metal door as customers exited the bakery. But when all at once, the traffic lights turned bright red, it caused a bunch of cars to honk. This added to the deafening noise of shouting and screaming, laughing and crying of the crowd.
If you try to observe, you would find in this crowd, businessmen in grey suits waiting in the traffic, frustration across their faces as they were late to work and customers were trying to bargain the prices of commodities in a stubborn shopkeeper’s shop.
Same was the case in 'S & A interiors', well, the elevated, brick building I talked about. Their was a commotion if you peak into the windows, employees running around completing their pending work, which was actually to be submitted yesterday. The loud clicking of computer keys , employees talking and laughing and enjoying their coffees . When all at once, the clicking and clacking of high stilleto heel could be heard coming towards this department, this made all employees to straighten up and get back to work.
Going further into the office, past the long corridor , up the elevator to the 30th floor, there stood a tall, grey door with a label ' Mr. Anderson Salene'.
Entering it, you would find a large office table, but due to a bunch of files and bundle of paper work covering the desk, it seemed small. Behind the desk was a revolving chair on which sat a young, blonde haired girl, trying to figure out the file in front of her.Well, that's me .. Armonica Suzy Salene, I prefer just Suzy.
And this is my dad's office , hence, the name on the name plate outside the office.I took hold of a blue ink pen, getting ready to sign the paper Infront of me. Suddenly, I lifted my head with a thought in my mind, my eyes wandered over to the photo frame stuck on the wall beside the door.
" I miss you dad... I hope I make you proud." I thought
This took me back to what had happened 2 weeks ago.
