Chapter One
Well here I sit in my room with nothing to do over summer break, I just graduated high school and I have no idea what I'm going to do now but usually on summer break I spend it with my best friend Jake but he moved away during school last year so now I really don't have many friends. I just have people that I talk to at school or around my neighbor hood. I did have a friend Carter who I've know since pre-k but I don't talk to him much but he left for to college this summer. I used to have a big crush on him but then he started dating my best friend Bailey last year and then Bailey's and I friendship ended after she did that to me then Carter stopped talking to me and then is now off to college. So now that everyone is off to college I decided to take a trip to California, I've never really been out of the state or flew on a plane before so I'm facing my fears and going to Cali on a plane. Who knows I could meet my soul mate or meet some new friends. I'm hoping this will give me an idea of what I want to do with my life but I really want to meet a nice guy. I was always that girl in high who was to shy to ask the cute guys out. I thought maybe by me playing sports I would find some friends who would get me but I was wrong but oh well. While I was packing the doorbell rang, I stopped packing and went to answer the door it was my taxi, I was a little excited to leave but at the same time I'm a little scared but it will be a good experience for me. Well here I go to start a new chapter in my life, when I got to the airport I saw this very handsome looking guy, from the side he looked familiar but I ignored it, then when I walking to pay for my tickets I heard someone yelling my name.
"Payton is that you?"
I turned around to where the voice was coming from and I was shocked to see Carter standing there. He came up to me and hugged me.
"Umm hi Carter, what are you doing here?"
"I'm just back visiting from college, I'm surprised to see that you are here in an airport." he started to laugh. That's the one thing I like about Carter his sense of humor.
"Oh, well I'm taking a trip to Cali to see some friends who live up there, how is the college life for you?"
"Well that's kind of weird that's where I go to college at but its good, not the same as high school. Lot more things to do and more people also but you haven't changed a bit." he started laughing again. He must of saw my facial expression.
"Wow I see and what you mean by that I haven't changed a bit?" I was getting a little irritated by what he was saying. We haven't talked in a year so he has no right to judge me.
"Payton its not a bad thing, I like you this way. The shy, very athletic and very pretty girl." he smiled, this is what Carter is good at, he pulls you in with his words then drops you like a fly. That's what he did to Molly anyways, they dated for 2 months then there was a new girl at our school and they started to flirt then he broke up with Bailey for her, then molly tried to get me to be her friend again.
'"Carter that is very sweet of you but I don't believe you, this is what you said to Bailey last year and then you found someone else to fool around with. I don't know what I ever saw in you. Maybe you've changed but who knows. It was nice speaking to you and seeing you but I got to get my ticket."
I walked away leaving him speechless. God that feel so good to stand up to him, he had no idea how much he hurt me. Now that I think about it I should of talked to Molly about it. I decided to do something big, I got my phone out and dial Bailey's phone.
"Payton is that you?"
"Yeah its me, what are you doing right now?"
"Umm just in my room watching TV, why?"
"Well I was thinking maybe you could come with me to Cali?"
"Really? You mean that?"
"Yeah away for us to become friends again."
"Well what time does the plane leave?"
I looked up to the big LD screen to see the times for the leaving times, it said that the plane for Cali doesn't leave till 1:00 and its 11:30.
"It doesn't leave till 1:00, so you think you got time to pack and stuff?"
"Of course, you know me. How long are we going to stay for?"
"Umm a week or two. I'm just bring some extra clothes so if something happens I'll have clothes. You know me, clumsy and all."
I started laughing and I heard Molly laughing on the end. I've missed Bailey.
"Okay I'll be there soon and thanks for inviting me."
"No problem, glad I did. I miss you and our friendship."
"Aww so do I girl, see you soon."
