Chapter Ten

After yesterday's drama, I don't bother leaving my room,since I don't have any papers today, junior students are going home today so the juniors in my room are arranging their stuff, so the room was messy

I pretended to sleep when Anita came to the room yesterday, so she couldn't ask me any question, and today I didn't bother standing up for morning devotion,she and Onome both had one paper today so they left while I was probably sleeping.

"...and then I told Esther that he said he likes her" Morenike, one of the juniors in my room was telling Mercy

"I hope you people plan on sweeping this room before you leave?" I ask them with my back facing them

"Yes Adesuwa" they both say

"Good, you guys should enjoy your Christmas and bring chicken for me o" I joke

They laugh" I will keep your own specially, don't worry"

I laugh and stand up, grab my bucket and leave the hostel to fetch water

I go to the tap farthest from my hostel,not because I love carrying buckets,but because I just need some air and probably because I know I'll see someone that I know, someone like Kolade,he usually stays around the building by that tap and i don't want to risk running into him,not today at least,I just want anything that would bring me unnecessary stress and drama,I just want to see Darey and cruise the whole of Lagos with him

I'm thinking of Darey when I reach the tap, sometimes I think that God just likes messing with me and it's really not funny,so you mean to tell me that I left hostel,passed the normal community tap to avoid Kolade and walked under this 10 o clock sun, only to see the person I was avoiding in the first place, waiting for me by this stupid tap. I immediately turned around and started fast walking but he still caught up to me

"Are you mad or did you just feel slutty this morning?" Kolade scowls at me

"Are you sick? What the heck are you talking about,how would you just call me a slut early this fine morning are you mental?" I tell him

Imagine!

"Well with the way you're dressed it's like you're asking for it" he say as his looking at my chest

What is he blabbering about,I look down and realise that Adesuwa in her wrong state of mind left hostel in shorts and a black Netty see through sleeping shirt and she is not wearing bra

Can this ground like open so I can quietly drop and not come out again

God how can I be so stupid? No wonder those girls were looking at me like that, I just thought there were being their usual bitchy selfs

I instinctively drop my bucket and cross my arms on my chest

Kolade looks confused, he looks around,he then pulls his sweater off his head"Take this and cover yourself" he hands it to me

Hehe,you don't need to tell me twice,I snatch it from his hand and pull it over my head, it's extremely big and oh wow! It scent's like him so I breathe in the scent over and over again

"Madam" kolade coughs and I can see him smiling

He must think I'm a creep

"Erm...thank you, you see I wasn't really paying attention to myself when I left my hostel so I didn't know I was still wearing my erm...my inappropriate night shirt, trust me if I knew I wouldn't even have left my room, I'm sorry,wait I'm supposed to be apologizing to my self, after all I'm sure the whole of Lagos has seen my boobs,when it's not like as if I planned on stripping,very soon now they will start calling me a slut, I'm sure by dinning this afternoon everyone should have heard that....."

"You're a drama queen" he calmly interrupts me

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one who just flashed boobs to the whole city" I say and roll my eyes

"Your hype sha" Kolade says

"Whatever,why are you even here, Don't you have papers today? Even if you don't why are you still here"

"Well i have a right to freedom of movement, don't I?" He says smugly

"Don't I?" I deepen my voice and mimic him and go to  carry my bucket that rolled a few feet from were we're standing
And he just laughs

"Why did you come all the way here, when there's a tap close to your hostel?"

"I really don't see how where I fetch my water concerns you"

He sighs"Adesuwa I'm sorry okay, I was just trying to look out for you" he says

"By questioning me?" I ask him

"No I just care for you, is that my crime? Why are you changing all of a sudden?"

"I've always been like this, you can't just start talking to me and suddenly know who I am, and I've told you before to just leave me alone! Or do you want to get me killed first?"

He stares at me

"Killed how?"

"Abeg I'm done talking to you" I say as I put my bucket under the tap but he switches it off

"But I'm not done talking to you" his voice is so low that I'm actually scared

"Okay but I really don't care, I don't have anything to say to you" I say as I turn the tap back on and continue fetching my water

"I don't know why your just being a bitch' lately,but let me tell you it would get you nowhere" he says calmly and walks off

"Mtcheeeeeww" I hiss loudly,carry my bucket and start the isrealite journey to my hostel.

Now I know I've either annoyed him or I've hurt him

Whatever option it's still better than him being expelled, I can actually sacrifice the feelings I have for him, just so he can finish school here, because I know if something happens and he gets expelled, he's parents are definitely going to ship him to a millitary boarding school,I honestly thought that those type of threats that parents give their children who are deviants only happen in movies and books but I was so wrong, he told me all these when we were talking that first day that he apologized to me

He said that his parents are tired of his behavior and that they are sick of the school always calling them for one reason or the other and they are done coming to bribe the school and that they told him that one more call for bad news will land him in the worse military all boys boarding school.

So I don't want to be the cause of that and I'm going to try to avoid him till at least when I know that Mr Tayo is off my back no matter how long it takes
