Next Day
After an eventful day yesterday, it's finally the day I get to go to Bev's for a sleepover. I already packed everything for the sleepover, so now I'm riding around the town on my bike, before I have to go to Bev's. As I was riding my bike around town, I spot Mike going into a store to deliver meat. I slow my bike down to a stop in front of the store, contemplating if I should go in. I decide I should, so I pull my bike to the side of the store and walk in.
"See that boy over there, he was in the fire." I hear someone whisper from next to me as I walk into the store. I turn my head to see a man looking at Mike as he talks to his son. I look at Mike to see him look away from the man. I frown and walk up to the man.
"Excuse me, sir?" I say as I stand in front of the man. He looks at me.
"Yes?" He asks as he looks at me with raised eyebrows.
"You see my friend, Mike over there?" I ask him as I turn to point at Mike, who's already staring at me, "the boy you were just talking about to your son. Yeah, well, he heard you because you don't know how to whisper. You shouldn't even be going around saying that anyways when your in the same room as him! It was a bad part of his past that he doesn't want to be known for! So I would appreciate if you didn't go around saying that when your near him."
I stare at the man after I finished my rant, waiting for a response. Before he could say anything though, I feel someone grab my arm and I am pulled out of the store. I look at the person to see it's Mike.
"Hey Mike!" I greet, smiling innocently at him.
"Y/N, you didn't have to do that, I could've just ignored them." Mike tells me.
"But we're friends, and that's what friends do, sick up for each other." I reply. He smiles at me.
"Well, thanks, but I think that guy is scared of you, now." Mike says, chuckling. I grin.
"He should be." I joke, laughing. I glance at the clock in the store through the window to see it's almost time for me to go to Bev's, "Well, I got to go, I'll see you around, right?"
"Yeah, I'll be delivering meat. Bye." Mike says as I get on my bike and start riding away.
"Bye Mike!" I yell as I ride down the street to Bev's apartment. After a couple minutes of riding my bike, I see Bev's apartment come into view. I slow down to a stop in front of her apartment and get off my bike. I walk up the apartment stairs, to her door and knock on it. The door opens and standing there is Bev.
"Hey Y/N." Bev greets, giving me a hug. I hug her back.
"Hey Bev." I greet back. She lets go of the hug and looks at me.
"Listen my dad is a bit of a creep, but he's sleeping right now, so follow me quickly to my room." She explains to me. I nod. I was quick to silently follow her when she walked through the door because I didn't want to wake her creep of a dad up.
We walked through the living room silently trying not to wake up her dad who was sleeping on a couch in the living room. Just as I thought we made it through the living room successfully, I hear a voice from behind us.
"Bevvy, is this the friend you said you invited?"
Me and Bev stop walking, turning around to look at the voice. Her dad had woken up and was standing behind us.
"This is Y/N." Bev says introducing me. I smile politely at her dad.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Marsh." I say politely as I watch him start walking towards me. I glance at Bev.
"Just go with it." She whispers to me. I nod as I turn back to look at her dad, who was now right in front of me. My eyes widen as he puts his hands on the sides of my face, using one hand to pet my hair? I side ways glance at Bev, confused and disgusted.
"You have a pretty friend, Bevvy." Bev's dad tells Bev.
"Yep, I do. We're going to go to my room, okay?" Bev tells her dad as she grabs my hand and pulls me away from her dad and to her room.
"Sorry about him, he's a creep." Bev apologizes to me as we sit in her bed.
"It's fine. I should've expected it because of the stories you have told me." I assure her. We sit there silently before I hear Bev stand up.
I look over at her to see her walking to the corner of her room where her bag is. She picks it up and walks back over to me. I watch as she starts rummaging through her bag.
"What are you looking for." I ask her. She looks away from the bag and at me.
"This." She tells me as she pulls out a bloody postcard. I look at her confused as she gives it to me, "read it."
I furrow my eyebrows as I look down at the bloody postcard.
"Your hair is winter fire, January embers, my heart burns there too." I read out loud. I then look at Bev, "aww, who wrote that?"
She shrugs her shoulders, smiling.
"Well, looks like you got a secret admirer!" I exclaim nudging Bev as we both giggle. I give the postcard back and she stands up.
I watch as she kneels down in the floor in front of a wall. She removes a loose baseboard and puts the postcard in it.
"This is where I put special stuff, so my dad doesn't find it." Bev explains as she puts baseboard back in its place.
"What else is in there?" I ask as Bev comes to sit down next to me.
"Pack of cigarettes and my keys." Bev answers. I nod. I then glance at her grinning.
"You've got a secret admirer! You've got a secret admirer!" I tease, while poking a laughing and blushing Bev.
And that's how the night went, me teasing Bev about her secret admirer, us dancing around to music, and us playing different games.

Next day
I wake up from my dreamless sleep and sit up. I look over at an already dressed Bev who was packing her bag.
"Good morning." I say, yawning as I stretch. She turns around and smiles at me.
"Good morning! You ready to go hang out with Bill today?" Bev asks me as I stand up and walk over to my bag, picking it up.
"Yep, as ready as I will ever be." I tell her as I walk out of the room to the bathroom. I lock the door and get changed into my outfit. I move over to the sink and brush my teeth and hair, making sure I look presentable.
Just as I finished getting ready I hear shouting outside the door. I quickly pack up my stuff and put my bag on my back, exiting the bathroom.
I quickly run into the living room to see Bev's dad on top of Bev. I run over to them just as Bev kicks her dad in the crotch. I push Bev's dad off of her and Bev quickly scrambles getting up off the ground.
She grabs my hand and we run away from the living room and into her bathroom. She slams the door shut and grabs a vase from off a shelf. We get into the tub and stand quietly behind the shower curtain.
I quiet my breathing as I hear footsteps from outside the bathroom door. I look over at Bev to see her holding the vase like a baseball bat. I look back at the shower curtain as I hear the bathroom door open and footsteps coming closer to the shower curtain.
As soon at the person opened the shower curtains they were hit in the head by the vase Bev had grabbed. My eyes widen as I look at Bev's unconscious dad lying on the floor.
"Holy shit." I mumble as I slowly get out of the tub, Bev following. We slowly walk around the unconscious body, our eyes never leaving the body.
I sigh before turning away from the body and towards the door. I gasp as I feel a hand grab my throat, lifting me off the ground. My head shoots up and I see the clown grinning at me creepily, before all I see is blackness:
