Chapter Three
Angelina rolled over on the bed, the inside of her elbow sloppily over her face. Most of her hair had been pulled from her loose braid, yet it still managed to look stylish. Christina on the other hand, had the right side of her cheek on her pillow and most of her blonde hair over the left of her face. Justin however, didn’t have as much hair that could be messed up in the morning. In fact, his hair was usually so perfect in the morning, some said he brushed his hair in his sleep.
Justin rolled over on the couch and ended up on the carpeted floor.
“Crap!” He shouted, looking at the clock.
He ran upstairs in boxers and a t-shirt, opening Chris’s door.
“What is it?” Chris asked groggily, rolling over on her other side and letting her arm hang over the edge of the bed.
“We are going to miss our flight!” He shouted.
Chris shot up and looked at the alarm clock to the right of her bed. She shook Angelina awake and got out of the bed. She jumped into the shower and took, what she felt, the fastest shower she had ever taken. Angelina did the same. Justin took about thirty seconds shorter, for he didn’t have as much hair to wash. They all were ready to go at 6:28. Each grabbed their own suitcase and rushed to the car, thankful the drive to the airport wasn’t a long one. When they arrived, their flight was due to leave in twenty minutes.
“That idiot Marie!” Chris hissed.
“We don’t’ have time to complain.” Justin told her as they went through customs and security.
They watched the gate start to close as they neared to the gate. The guard was ready to close the door.
“Wait!” Angelina called as the guard’s eyes shifted to the trio.
“What are you doing here?” She asked the trio of friends.
“What do you mean? We have our flight information right here.” Justin told her.
“No, a woman stopped by just a few minutes ago and explained how you decided you weren’t going to go to New Jersey. Your seats have been taken already.” She explained to the confused teenagers.
“No, no, we are making the trip. Who told you that we weren’t making the trip?” Angelina asked.
“Was she French?” Christina muttered.
“Yes, she did have a rather thick French accent.” The woman explained, perching her hand on her pistol on her belt instinctively.
“Marie. Ugh! How many times can she try and do this to us?” Chris nearly shouted.
“Chris, calm down.” Justin told Chris sweetly.
“I’m sorry, but unless you have the money for the first class seats, you aren’t able to go.” The guard explained.
“We don’t have the money to do that. Well we do, but it’s all in our suitcases. At least all the money that would cover that.” Christina explained, crossing her arms over her chest with annoyance dripping through her tone.
“Well, I’m terribly sorry, but you’re going to have to wait for the next available flight.”
“No they won’t, I’ll be paying for them.” Mayor Rosario said, walking quickly towards the quartet.
“Mayor Rosario, you don’t have to-” Angelina began.
“Yes I do. I owe you three that much.” The mayor replied.
