Cherry Blossoms

It was merely mid-April when the pink trees had blossomed with beautiful flowers of the same color, swaying side to side as it danced along with the wind that blew on their way, grabbing a few petals from the pink flowers as they all gently flew down from their nestled branches and laid down on the cold pavement floor. It was a majestic moment to cherish for it was the season of spring and the cherry blossom trees had shoot with bountiful cheer that caught everyone's eyes to admire the wonderful and breath-taking view of the famous cherry blossom flowers.

Houtarou was one of the people who had found the flowers admirable and lovely, although he was a boy who could not see such colors in his life, that did not took away the bright hues and radial shades that he sees in his everyday life; and these cherry blossoms are one of those that had tainted his grey-colored life.

He had always watched his life unfold under the black and white colors, no matter how lively the emerald color in his eyes appear – in his own eyes, everything was grey.

The high school boy faintly sighed as he proceeded to count his heart beat. But beyond these pink flowers, there was only one flower in the world – in his world – that was the most beautiful and colorful flower of them all.

"Oreki-san, look! Isn't this beautiful?"

It was her.

He paused, with his eyes slightly widening itself and his mouth hanging agape, as he watched the long raven haired girl walk after him. She had run over under one large cherry blossom tree that was full of its pink glory with numerous petals falling down above her. She had her arms wide open, as if she were receiving a hug, as she happily spun around the descending flower petals that touched her porcelain skin. Her smile radiated brightly as the sun as she continued to be star-struck at the marvelous scene in front of her. He couldn't unsee what he had seen.

She was the most precious flower that he had picked from his garden of grey flowers. She was the only one who had brought the different splashes of color in his life that overwhelmed his senses into endless thoughts of her. He was forever amazed by how such a magnificent blossom had bloomed into his dull life.

"Yeah..you are beautiful."

Both froze upon that sentence laid out in the open air. Their breaths hitched in their throat as their eyes widened in outmost surprise with the choice of words, and both had blushed with the bright pink hue that rivaled the cherry blossoms that surrounded them at the moment. Houtarou sharply breathed when his orbs met with Eru's peculiar violet ones, looking at each other in astonishment, he could hear his heart beat a little too fast when he continued to stare at her sparkling eyes and he could feel himself breathing heavily under her curious stare.

How much he wanted to let those eyes stare at him for forever.

The blush on his face turned even brighter when Eru's lips portrayed a sweet smile, and he was sure that she was smiling at him when she slowly walked up to him as he remained nailed in his place. "Oh, Oreki-san." She paused right in front of him as she leisurely wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. "You really aren't used to this even if we're already together, hmm?" She asked with a soft smile on her face.

Houtarou looked down at her and sighed. "Yeah, sorry."

He heard Eru lightly giggle, it was such a small sound but, that sound was music to his ears that reminded him of imaginary twinkling bells at night before he sleeps. It was a soothing melody that he would repeatedly play on a record player. "It's okay, I'm not used to this either –" she replied as she turned her gaze up to see his face. "– but we could figure it out together, right?" She asked him with another of her wonderful smile.
