Loving Her

Prologue

"Do you wanna play with me?"

"Eww. No you have cooties!"

"Get away from me you freak!"

Little 4 year old Natalie had no one to play with on the first day of school. The girls though she was a freak, and the boys said she had cooties. She didn't even know what that was!

She sat in the sandbox by herself. Her eyes filled with tears ready to just pour down.

Until,

"Why are you sad?"

She looked up and saw a boy. She knew who he was. It was only the first day of school and everyone already wanted to be his friend.

Natalie looked down and outed, "No one wants to play with me." She suddenly felt someone sit next to her. She already knew who it was.

"Ill play with you! I love playing with new people." He gave a toothy grin. "My name is Jacob. What's yours?"

"N-Natalie."

"Why are you scared? I won't hurt you. I'm not a meanie, I promise!" He held up his hands up in surrender in an adorable way.

She still didn't look at him as she kicked sand around. "I'm just scared you're gonna laugh at me and leave me alone like everyone else." The tears were coming back again. She really didn't want to cry in front of someone that might actually want to be her friend.

"Why would I do that to my new bestfriend?"

Natalie looked up in shock. She saw confusion on his face, but she's till hadn't registered what he said.

"W-What did you just say?"

He smiled, "You're my new bestfriend. I won't let anyone make fun of you or hurt you. I pinky promise." He held up his pinky so Natalie could take.

She was hesitant about taking it. She didn't know if he was lying just to get a laugh from the other kids. She was scared, but there was a big voice in her head saying she should take it. The voice knew he would keep that promise.

So she took his pinky into hers, and that's what started their unbreakable friendship.

They were partners in crime. They did absolutely everything together especially after they found out they lived next door to each other. They were the troublemakers of both the neighborhood and school.

Jacob did keep his promise. Whenever someone tried making fun of Natalie or tried hurting her, he yelled and scared them off. They were the best of friends, one in two.

That is until high school. Things changed and they started falling apart.

How you ask? Well it started when he broke his promise, Natalie got hurt. The worst part was she got hurt by someone she never thought would hurt her.
