Felice slammed her locker door before giving it a death glare. She couldn't walk down a hall without it going extremely quiet with everyone staring at her. She was pissed because first off, it's rude to stare at people. Second of all, she felt like an organism being examined thoroughly through a microscope. That made her lose her appetite. She had had enough.
"Would you people stop staring at me? I don't have a sign saying 'Hey! Look at me!' written across my forehead." They all looked anywhere else but her, mumbling under their breaths.
She turned to a girl standing a feet away, staring at her the way everyone had. "Do you feel comfortable if I stared at you for what feels like an eternity until you're out of my site?" The girl shook her head no and squirmed.
"Now will you all quit it?" It came out more of a command but she didn't give a damn. She was absolutely exhausted from all that had happened. She started walking towards the parking lot and off campus.
She'd not walked 10 meters before a bike moved beside her. She turned to see his hair kept back with a bandana and his sleeves of his shirt rolled up.
"Come on." He jolted his head, telling her to ride with him.
"Uh, no. There isn't anywhere to sit. And I'm fine walking by the way." She continued walking.
Andy sped up a bit before turning his bike to block off the sidewalk. "Come on. I wouldn't want you to walk alone."
"Then walk with me." She said like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"So you want me company?" He raised an eyebrow with a smirk playing on his lips. She rolled her eyes.
"Where am I supposed to sit?"
"Either in the basket, or here." He pointed to the back of the bike. "Whichever is best for you. Most likely the back."
She clung to the strap of her bag, eyeing the bright yellow bike. Who in the world owns a yellow bike, why so yellow?
"Are you gonna hop on or not?"
She sighed before tossing her bag into the basket and climbing behind him. Her legs were on either side while her hands rested on her thighs.
"Do you want to fall?" He rolled his eyes and grabbed her hands before wrapping them around his waist. He then started to pedal and they both watched the buildings pass by, being able to intake the scenario yet move onto a new one quickly.
The light breeze combed through Felice's hair and tickled her face. She hadn't noticed how close she was to Andy before she felt him tense up under her touch. Her cheek was resting on his left scapula as she watched the cars move by.
He dared not take his eyes off in front of him or he'd swerve and crash, but she was just making it so damn hard. Her small hands were wrapped firmly around his waist, but not too tight. Her finger was rubbing her other thumb. Andy snuck a glance in the corner of his eye to see her smiling and really enjoying herself.
They got to the front of their building and Andy stopped. He waited for Felice to climb off, but she didn't. Her hands were still wrapped around his waist but loosely, her feet were planted on the ground now, and she was staring at him.
She stared into the brown eyes she'd stared at the day before as he stared into the eyes he'd been admiring from afar. He cleared his throat and turned towards the handle bars. He lost the warmth of her arms around him and felt the bike feel a bit lighter. She reached for her bag as he climbed off the bike.
They both started into the lobby and towards the elevator. They stood in the elevator ride silently, both too concealed in their own thoughts. Getting to their floor, they both tried stepping out at the same time.
"Sorry."
"You first."
They gave each other a flustered nod before she stepped out first, him following close behind with his bike. They both got to their door, their backs towards each other. They both turned around to each other after unlocking their door.
"Thanks." Felice said.
"Your welcome." Andy replied. They stared at each other once again before they both bid their 'see you laters' and entered their apartments, not knowing that once the other entered and closed the door, neither one of them left each other's mind.
