Day 5
Lisa wakes up before the sunrise and the woman lying beside her. Lately, she has been inundated with too much insomnia due to the emotional baggage that it seems to be really difficult to deal with. She smiles while examining Jennie's face, her stunning beauty, smooth skin, cute nose, and undeniably adorable chubby cheeks. She loves that no matter how much Jennie loses weight, and her body is so slim, but her cheeks remain as much as she likes it to be.
"Jennie," She mumbles softly as if she tries to remember the latter's name in her mind. Her finger brushes the hair which was scattering on over the brunette's face.
Jennie suddenly turns her body to another side because of the tickling feeling of the blonde's finger but still hasn't opened her eyes, yet. Lisa grins stupidly at Jennie's cuteness.
She moves softly to Jennie's side and carefully hugs the latter from behind as if she was scared that she wakes up, and she still has a lot of things to tell Jennie. As stupid as it sounds, Lisa does not want to talk when Jennie is awake, so she decides to trick herself by talking near Jennie.
"Promise me, okay? That you will be happy even if it won't involve me anymore. Don't worry about me. I won't leave your side even if I have to. Fate can take me away from you physically, but not spiritually. I will always be beside you. Support you. Can you do that for me, huh? Be happy and live for me, love?" She murmurs, inhaling the scent from the brunette's head before cautiously slipping away from the bed and go to the bathroom.
As for Jennie, she was awake since the blonde brushed her hair, but she wanted Lisa to embrace her more so she could go back to sleep again because it's still early to get up, not expecting to hear that dreadful confession.
It seems like Lisa is really planning to leave her right away after her marriage, and the word Lisa called her really digs deep inside her heart. Why the way she called her makes her heart beats faster than anything else in the world? Why her best friend has this weird effect on her?
Suddenly, her eyes well up with tears because the realization hits her so hard, and it curses her that she never listens to her heart even once. That she always in denial. She is ignorant about the things that Lisa has always done for her. She has skipped every important detail that always makes her happy. She chooses to be accepted instead of being happy.
"Jennie, your aunt is coming. Prepare yourself." Jennie's mom shouted at her fifteen-year-old daughter.
That day was Jennie's birthday, and she was so excited to celebrate it with her family and friends, especially Lisa who recently bragged about the gift she wanted to give to Jennie. In fact, she only wanted to spend this day with her best friend, Lisa. She wanted to tell Lisa the truth about her feeling. She smiled at the thought.
"Hi, darling. I miss you." Her aunt greeted her when she saw her.
"I miss you, too." She smiled brightly while her aunt took her hand as she guided the younger to her sister, Jennie's mother.
"Let's celebrate my lovely baby's birthday at my house. I have my car today to pick you up." Her aunt said excitedly, but Jennie's face turned sour, "I think I should celebrate it here because I want to spend half of the day with my friend."
"Who? Are you implying it's your boyfriend?" Her aunt teased playfully.
"Uhh, yeah- uhh. NO! it's just someone special to me." Jennie blushed at her words.
"Jennie, is it Lisa?" Her mom asked.
She gasped at the sudden intrusion of her mom. "Y-yeah."
"Well, don't worry, honey. Lisa is a good kid. I also love her too." Mrs. Kim supported her daughter while patting her back.
"She is a girl, right?" Her aunt turned towards them with a serious expression.
"Yeah," Jennie answered normally when her aunt suddenly released her hand, "Don't tell me you love girl. Our family is not homophobic, but we don't really accept gay love."
Jennie's heart twisted. "It's my choice. I don't care whether you support it or not." The words left her mouth unexpectedly.
"Sister, I always support my daughter. You don't have to say that in front of her face. It's her birthday, after all." Her mom's face was really serious right now. She knew her family tradition, but she wouldn't destroy her daughter's heart because of that.
"Listen, kid. You don't love her. You are just confused because you are young and innocent. Moreover, you have never had a boyfriend, right?" Her aunt calmed down a bit.
She nodded apologetically for her previous outburst.
The older chuckled, "See! You are just confused with yourself. Come on, Jennie. Let's go to my house, and I will introduce you to some of the handsome young men there."
"Jennie, if you still want to spend time with Lisa. Just tell your aunt here. You don't have to follow her everywhere. Your mom here is with you." Her mom whispered to Jennie when she was about to go with her aunt, but her daughter decided to go with her aunt to see if she was really just confused with her feeling.
When she was in the car going back to her house, her aunt looked at her with an inscrutable expression. "Jennie, I know my sister isn't against you whether you love girls or not, but remember she will be ashamed about it. Admitted or not." That word makes Jennie gazed at her aunt with wide eyes. They were in stunned silence for a moment before Jennie decided to choose to stop that stupid feeling towards her best friend. In fact, she wasn't interested in boys that came to her birthday, but she didn't want her family to feel embarrassed about it even though she was so sure that her mom won't blame her about that, and it made her feel more guilty.
