I walked in the room, no one noticing that I was late. I made my way to my seat as quietly as I could. Betraying me the chair squeaked as I say down. "Miss Valentine, so glad you could finally join us." Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked back at me. "Sorry Mr. Gomez," I explained, " I woke up late this morning." He said not to be late again, and that the assignments are on his desk.
Once he started lecturing again, I got my assignments, sat down in my desk, took out my pen and wrote down my name. Well that's enough work for this class, I thought to myself. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and it made me jump a little. Making sure Mr. Gomez wasn't looking I slowly took out my phone. 'Why were you really late?' I looked back at Kyle and he mouthed the word why. I texted back, ' I headed to McDonald's. I for hungry on the way here.' I heard him laugh a little. I just smiled, taking out my drawing book. Turing to the last page I drew on, I continued to shade in my drawing of the arch angel Michael.
The last five minutes of class seem to drag on forever but once that bell rang, I was the first one out of the class. within seconds the halls were flooded with kids rushing around. It was so crowded, one could hardly walk down the halls without telling what kind of gum the other person was chewing. Nasty. It was hell. No actually it was worse, it was high school. What's worst than that? It was my high school. Manzano High School. My name is Alexandra Valentine. I'm an 11th grader and this place sucks. then again I'm always the quiet one who doesn't anything and just does her work like a good little nerd.
I'm not one of those thick glasses, braces weird looking kind of girls. I have black hair. My eyes are blue, I'm bout 5ft 6'. I also have a good sized set, or at least that's what people tell me. Assholes.
Anyway, finally made it to my locker through the army of kids that I had to fight through. I took off my sunglasses so I could see my locker combination.
I felt some someone tap my left shoulder as soon as I got my locker open. I turned around to find Samantha smiling at me. "Hi Sammy." I say taking off my headphones.
"Morning, Alex," she smiled, "I was wondering if you did the homework for English?"
"Of course I did," I rolled my eyes, "but what do I get out of it if I lend you the homework? Mhmm?"
I could see the wheels in her head turning, thinking what she could trade. I opened my bag taking out my math and chemistry books out and shoving them in my locker.
"I ain't got all day Sammy."
She opened her bag looking inside of it and then brought out a piece of paper explain that this was the answers for Mr. Sparago's test.
Smiling I told her her, "Sammy my friend, you have a deal."
