Bestfriend?

Chapter 2. Surprise!!

I just ran off like an complete idiot. I told Lev that I have to go home and help my dad out and he tried to convince me to atleast see the sunset and go but the way I was feeling that time I told him it would be better if I go home.
I know even I was disappointed but I couldn't face her that time and to make up to that I decided to plan a surprise for her.

Lev decided to drop me off and on our way back an idea was building up in my brain and I discussed it with Lev well at first he was like dude you didn't even meet her yet but then I told him I that knew since we were 3. He agreed to help me and as the school was not starting for another week he suggested that he could even ask her best friend for help and I didn't mind cause I wanted it to be good.

Two days later I went to Lev's house where I met Julia who was Sydney's bestfriend apparently. "So you are Ethan" she said with a smile and I replied"yup that's me" she introduced herself to me and then we all started talking about what we can do.

Julia's p.o.v:

He seemed like a very nice guy and I could tell right away that he liked Syd cause you know he was trying too hard. His plan was good and I am really excited to see how Sydney reacts cause one thing she is going to meet him after 5 years and second she was kinda into him cause you know she talked about him for hours when we became friends untill she met Nate.

So I was first incharge of sending Nate away and try my best to keep him away till Ethan did his part but I denied cause I am Syd's bestfriend and Nate is her crush and she will blast on me if I take him away so Lev agreed to do it. I got the best part after arguing with Lev and that was to sit at the table and watch her reaction.
I have my ways to get what I want (except my crush)

Ethan's p.o.v:

So it was the first day of the school and I was excited and nervous. What if she doesn't want to see me? What if I spoil her mood? How would she react? I was trying to brush all those thoughts out because I was not turning back and anyway we are in school so she would find out sooner or later. I decided to wear my favourite tee shirt cause it made me feel good.

I was avoiding Sydney all day and luckily we didn't have same class so that's good. I was happy because I actually didn't feel like I was new student because I already had made friends and my bestfriend was studying in the school. What could go wrong?

I was ready, I entered the cafeteria and man it was big. It would be hard to locate them if Lev and Julia wouldn't have helped me. I went to their table and saw Syd's back and Lev was not at the table as he was distracting Nate because I got weird vibes from that guy. I put my hand on Sydney's eyes while Julia was talking to her.

Sydney's p.o.v:

"I know its you Nate, you really think I still fall for it" I said a bit annoyed.

There was no response so I put my hand on Nate's hand and removed it while I stood up from my table. But it was not Nate.

"Um..... Ethan" I said in a confused tone as I was not sure who it was the second I saw him but then I remembered Ethan's face and saw a lot of similarity. He was looking very happy and with a very excited tone I heard him say "I thought you would figure it out quicker but yes it's me Ethan" and I was so happy to see him too. I just hugged him as I was excited and happy to see my bestfriend after so long.

We were really good friends back in sixth grade but after I left to Ohio dad took my phone away so that I could concentrate on my studies and when I got a new one I didn't have any contacts with him so we hadn't talked in years. I had so many questions to ask and a lot of gossip to share but I couldn't hangout today as I had plans with Nate. I was lost in my thought for a moment but then I saw Nate stand by my side.

"Ethan this is my friend Nate and Nate this is my childhood bestfriend Ethan" I introduced them to eachother.

Ethan's p.o.v:

I could see the look on Nate's face when she called him 'friend' and called me her 'childhood bestfriend' I really wanted to laugh at that moment.

He gave me a death stare and grabbed Sydney's hand and they sat at the other end of the table. I was ok with it even though I wanted to sit with her but I understood how Nate felt. I was atleast happy her reaction. I could see on her face that she wanted to talk to me but Nate didn't allow her to. Poor her!

But I knew she would talk to me once the school was over. But that's where I was wrong. She didn't talk to me why I don't know.
But in school just before we seperated after lunch break I heard her say "I can't talk to you, sorry" I thought she was not able to end the sentence but I guess that's all she wanted to say because there was no sign of here for the next two days. What did I do???
