Jack sighed softly looking up at the towering dormitory infront of him clenching his bags in his hands. He took a deep breath, ran a hand through his line green hair and stepped inside heading up the stairs to room 206.
When he got to the dorm he knocked on the door hearing a deep voice aay 'come in' he nodded stepping inside the room
"Uh Hey I'm Jack" he mumbled his thick Irish accent heard with each word he spoke. He looked at a tall boy with raven black hair some of it died like a galaxy as he spoke. The boy was sitting on his bed looking down at his phone, but as Jack spoke his eyes glided up to him.
The boy smiled warmly and put his phone away standing up. "Hey I'm Mark" he said in a nice deep voice that was oddly very soothing.
Jack stared at him for a moment and replied his voice cracking a little. "Nice to meet you" he basically forced it out his voice sounding foreign to him.
Mark chuckled softly looking down at him. "Nervous huh? Me too. College is so different from highschool" he said rubbing his neck out of habit.
Jack nodded "yea its kinda overwhelming" he smiled a little starting to get more comfortable. Jack plopped down onto his bed and Mark did the same after he did.
"So what are you studying?" He asked trying to keep the conversation going. If he wanted to stay here he had to get along with his roommate and hopefully Jack would get along with him
"Oh well I'm studying Mythology. Like Greek and Norse mythology all that." He replied smiling more getting excited to talk about something he was so passionate about. "Its so interesting! It's all so gorgeous and beautiful!" Before he said any more he stopped himself. "Ah! Sorry I tend to ramble hehe" he chuckled awkwardly.
Mark smiles sensing the passion for the subject. "Oh it's alright. I tend to get like that over space"
A smile formed on Jack's face "oh space huh? Interesting. Our subjects kinda go together" he chuckled.
Mark thought about it for a moment then nodded. "Your right! They do go together " He smiled "we might get along quite well"
They both smiled at the thought that they already found a friend on the first day of school.
Jack shook his thoughts away remembering he had to unpack. "Oh shit I forgot about my stuff!" He said immediately standing up, going over to his bags.
Mark watched as he got up and went to his things "want any help?" He asked getting ready to stand up. He already put his stuff away so he might as well help.
"Yes please that would be great" he smiled thankful for the help.
Mark and Jack spent the next hour and a half unpacking. After they were done Jack flopped on his bed face first and groaned. "My back is killing me!" He whines a little rubbing his lower back gently.
Mark looked over his shoulder then checked the time on his phone seeing it was 12pm. "Hey you want to go grab lunch?" He asks keeping his eyes on his phone.
Jack instantly sat up at the idea of getting food. "Yes! I'm absolutely starving. I haven't eaten since I boarded my plane" he mumbled getting up and heading over to the door, Mark already standing next to it.
"Plane?" Mark asked raising a eyebrow. "Oh yea I should've mentioned I'm from Ireland" he chuckled ruffling up his green hair. Mark smiled "Nice. It explains your accent" he chuckles warmly. "What's it like in Ireland?" Mark always secretly wanted to go to Ireland. He's heard nothing but good from there.
"Eh it rains quite a lot. More than I like it to" he murmured. "But other than that I love it a lot" a warm smile was now on his face. Mark couldn't help but smile back.
"Shall we go then?" He asked opening the door for them. Jack nodded stepping out the door. "Yea let's go!"
