"So know any good restaurants?" Jack asked turning to Mark as they got to the street mall near their college. He nodded "oh yea theres this amazing ramen shop just up the road" he replied coolly pointing ahead slightly.Jack turned his head a little. "Ramen? I've never had authentic. Just microwave ramen on lazy days"
Mark chuckled "I think everyone has. But once you try good ramen you won't go back to the cheap stuff!"
Jack smiled excited for trying ramen fot the first time. Well authentic ramen anyway. The way Mark spoke about it just made Jack hungrier.
In a few short minutes they had arrive at the ramen shop Mark seemed to adore.
Mari opened the door for the both of them and they stepped inside. The restaurant was kinda small about 15 tables in total. The was were painted a pale yellow with Japanese paintings and antiques all over the place. The smell of broth, meat and seafood filled the restaurant. 'It had a nice aesthetic to it, and the paintings were pretty.' Jack thought to himself.
Upon entering a boy, who looked no older than Mark and Jack, ran over to Mark high fiving him.
"Mark! How are you?" He smiled from ear to ear. Mark chuckled at the boys enthusiasm. "Im alright I'm just grabbing lunch with my new roommate, Jack" Jack smiled from next to Mark putting his hand up to wave.
The boy nodded at him in greeting then said. "Oh hello there! Let me take you too to your table" the boy instinctively grabbed two menus and lead the pair to a table. He set the menus down on the table and said. "Ill be back to take your orders" before disappearing into the kitchen.
The boys sat down across from each other and grabbed their menus looking at the choices.
Mark looked around for a moment surprised at how few people there were. "Its quiet today"
Jack looked up from his menu glacning around the restaurant himself. "Probably cause of work and school and all that"
Mark nodded since it did make sense. It was the first day of school after summer break and you know how parents are.
Mark put his menu down already knowing what he wanted. Jack stared at his menu intently unsure of what to get.
A smirk tugged at Mark's lips recognizing the look. "Don't know what to get?" He asks. Jack nodded with a sigh. "Yea everything looks so good! Its hard to choose one thing" he mumbled before looking back down and settling on a miso ramen.
The boy came back asking what they wanted. They both placed their order, the boy quickly writing it down.
"Alright! It should be done soon" he said before going to place the order.
After he walked away Mark turned to Jack. "Well tell me more about yourself" He said with a smile.
Jack smiled back "well alright. Hmm where should I start.." he thought for a moment.
"When I was younger i watched the movie Hercules and thats were my love of mythology started. Throughout my childhood i did research and read books about. When i was in highschool, the drama club made a Hercules play. I was lucky to play Hercules and im surprisingly good at singing" he chuckled. "Then here i am in college"
Mark smiled at him. "Same story for me except it was Wall-e and unfortunately there was no play" he said laughing a little at the last part.
Jack smiled warmly "yea Wall-e is a great movie!"
Mark nodded in agreement. "Yea its been awhile since I've seen it. I should see it again"
"We could watch it together if you want, I have Disney +"
"I'd love to! How about tonight? Classes don't officially start till Wednesday so we could binge a ton a movies." He said excitement in his voice. "And we could even watch Hercules" he adds with a wink.
Jack's cheeks turn a light shade of pink and replied. "I'd love that".
((I hope you enjoyed the chapter! Im trying my best lol also putting my love the movie Hercules into this. Its still a 10/10.
Anyway! Ill be posting as much as i can. Quarantine is stressful along with online school :,)
