"EVERYONE UP" I hear Mr.Barrens voice yell and I bolt up right.
"First mission crossfire" Tremor grins and pulls me up.
"I'll go get ready" I say and hurry to the armory, getting a gun and a couple of clips of ammo, i out on my jacket and head out to the others.
"Everyone in!" Mr.Barren orders us into some sand colored covered jeeps. I get in quickly, followed by the rest of the team, Grenade, Terror, Tremor, Arrow, Bullet and Long-Shot.
"Alright here's the plan" Grenade starts, but I tune her out, not paying attention to her. Until I feel the sudden stop of the truck I look at everyone wondering what had happened but O dont get the chance to ask as Arrow pulls me out after the rest of the team.
"Wait whe......" I stop talking sense Arrow cant even hear me over the sound of gun fire and the explosions of grenades. In fact I could barley hear myself. I just follow Arrow through the hell raining down on the land, we were in the middle of a campsite, tents spread out across the grass field. I couldn't see why we were attacking until I saw a tent go up on flames and a man standing there holding fire in his hands. We were fighting Super powered humans, this was the battle the others always talked about.
Now that I see the horrific slaughter of the powered humans, the deaths of innocent children and men and woman fighting to protect the others. I realize just how wrong this is, and just how much control and power Mr.Barren really has. I yelp as something hard hits me in the side if the head, making me collapse on the ground. I groan and try rising back up on my feet onto to have the wind knocked out of me as the dirt underneath me moves and I hit stone rather then the cushiony dirt.
"Wait Steve, he's just a child!" I hear a woman's voice yell. Then I feel something hard wrap around me, holding me to the ground, I think it must have been stone but with my face currently in the dirt it was hard to tell what the bindings were made of.
"He might be a child but he just help kill at least ten of the children" a mans voice says, im assuming hes who the woman called Steve. I start wondering where Arrow is until I feel my bindings tighten and a pain in my chest as my ribs are slowly crushed. I gasp for breathe and start coughing, trying to struggle out of the tightening stone. I wheeze for air, everything starting to become fuzzy as black overtakes my vision, clouding my eyes from the outside in until all I see is a pinpoint of light and then it to is gone.
I wake up, everything is fuzzy as I groggily look around, there was a burning feeling in my throat, I was parched and my stomach growled but it was difficult to move. Every time I tried moving a shooting pain light lightning would erupt from my right side, shoulder and my head. It was almost unberiable, the pain making my already fuzzy vision become dotted with black and make me light headed. I have a moments of alarm when i cant move my left leg but i soon realize that its just trapped under some rocks, with lots of pain and difficulties I pushed the rocks off, almost passing out again as a I feel light headed.
I reach down to feel for any damage on my leg, only finding the wet and stickiness of my own crimson blood. I groan and try to find where the bleeding is coming from, wincing when I touch the spot, I sit up slowly to look, finding a long gash on my calf. I close my eyes tightly, feeling slightly queasy and open them slowly, looking around for help, wondering where the rest of my team had gone. I carefully get up, almost throwing up from the pain, I groan and use a tent for support, which was a terrible idea considering I fell into it almost Immediately.
My eyes widen and I scream in pain before I quickly cover my mouth to stop myself. I slowly crawl out from the collapses tent and look around, when I got out I looked around for and signs of the people who had lived here, contrary to what a I have been told, I could not think of these people as creatures like I've been told to. I look around, my fuzzy vision clearing slightly, only to get worse as my head starts pounding. I see someone laying on a path in between a couple of tents but I cant tell if there alive or not.
I limp over to the person only to figure out that I recognized it, r to be more exact....her, it was Grenade. She was lying face down in a pool of her own blood, long claw marks crisscrossed her back and head, it was like a bear had mauled her, I collapse next to her, crying, she was the only one on the team I actually trusted and liked and now she was dead. I didn't even notice when the gash in my leg had started bleeding again, the only thing I did notice was the pain in my side and my head, my vision was getting fuzzier but I couldn't tell if it was from pain or tears. Not long after, my vision turned black and I slumped to the ground near Grenade, passed out.
