I'm staring at the screen. The video plays again. I've seen it one milliard thousand times. It's everywhere on facebook, twitter and tumblr.
In 2016, a video was leaked from an unknown source. Somewhere in America, someone is filming while walking down a road in the middle of the night. The person seems to be alone, and he is completely silent. Then something appears in the darkness. A transparent red creature, with glowing amber eyes. It stands still. Then it comes closer, every second a low sound plays. It's like a click, with echoes. The creature comes very close to the camera, and just when it's about to take a final step, the video ends.
The video went viral in 2018. It's even more famous than Slender man was. Even the people who don't go on the internet at all have heard of him. They named the creature 'Bloodsoul'. They made games of him, they made shirts, cups and all kinds of merchandise. They even made a god damn tv-series. And worst of all - tens of thousands of blogs desperately trying to prove that Bloodsoul is real. Pathetic.
I sigh. The laptop clicks as I close it. This is just a stupid, overused meme. I stretch and look out the window. Two kids run around in the park, and an old man is reading a newspaper. The first page says "Two men murdered friend - claims it was a sacrifice"
They still talk about this?
One month ago, some adults killed a guy and said it was a sacrifice for Bloodsoul, that he would kill them all if they didn't. They cut through his face. Disgusting. People can really be that sick.
My mom comes in at that moment. Looks at me for a few seconds.
"Ereya." She says. I look at her.
"Me and your dad talked. You just sit in here all day. You need to get some friends. So... we've decided to send you to Alwood Teen Camp." I groan. "Are you serious?" She nods. "You can't make me!" She's silent for a while, thinking whether she should get angry or get begging. "You're going, and that's final." She says and leaves.
