No one's POV
As usual, Cathy wakes up early, eats a 'healthy' breakfast of McDonalds, brushes her teeth and practises the piano.
She calls to her mum that she was ready. Yup, it was the usual day for Cathy. Or so she thought...

Cathy's POV
"Bye, Mum!" I call out to Mum in Vietnamese.
"Bye! Have a good time!" Mum replies, as usual.
I walk to the bus stop. Selena is already there, waiting for me.
"Hiii!!!!" I call to her. Selena casually greets me and we both walk into the bus. It was the normal daily sight: a crowd of people - all in different groups - either talking to each other or texting. I take out an apple and bite it.
Okay, maybe I'm making my life sound boring. But, let me get this straight: it's not. Everday is fun, including the usual days. Like this one. My friends know me as the 'comedian' in our group. And of course, Cammi knows me as the egghead.
After a while, we arrive at the bus stop in front of Serenity High School, a prestigious school I go to. Selena and I both hop off the bus after thanking the driver.
"HI GUYS!" I greet the rest of my group of friends (who were waiting at the front gates for me and Selena like usual) cheerfuly.
"Hey Cathy!" They all say, taking turns. Well, all of them except for Shavony. She greeted me with her usual joke, and we all start our conversation.
"Ew, I don't like the skin of apples." I say, chewing and then spitting out the food in my mouth into the bin closeby.
Shavony laughed. "So you eat it only for the insides?"
"No, I don't like the insides either." I reply in my usual loud and cheerful voice.
"Then what do you like about it?" Sophie asks me, raising an eye brow.
"The juice."
Everyone laughs, including me. I mean, laughing is contagious. Seriously. And, after I start laughing, my friends laugh even harder.
"Dude, your laugh is always funnier than the joke." Cammi says, putting her hand on my shoulder while smiling.
"My dad's laugh is even funnier!" I say in a somewhat indignant voice.
"How is that even possible?" Katerina asks. "Your laugh is already funny enough."
"Try imitating your dad's laugh," Cammi says enthusiastically.
"Okay. Wait." I take in a huge breath. "Ahhahahahahaheheheheehheeeeeheeeepwahahahahahahaahaa!!!!!!"

Cammi's POV
Cathy let out the weirdest and funniest laugh ever. I burst into giggles, and so did everyone else. Then, like our everyday laughing routine, Cathy started laughing too, which made us laugh so hard our stomachs hurt.
The school bell sounded and we walked to class. Since we're super happy-go-lucky (is this only a term used in anime and manga?), we were all in the same class. I'm glad Cathy is in our class. Like, seriously, without her, my school life would be boring.

TIME SKIP - 10 minutes later...

Cathy's POV
English was as boring as always. Which was not surprising, since Writing is my worst subject. My mind drifts off to other things, and I turn to my right, suddenly noticing the new kid sitting next to me. What's his name again? Quickly, I glance at his textbook. Ayden Tran.
