Two years later.....

Things were the way it was. The school was closed for the holidays, and was to open for the new academic year. It was so hard, cooperating with the teachers. The hospital..... wasn't giving out holidays. since there were plenty of doctors, the seven days were divided among them. Niru was on Monday duty. The other six days, the two of us do whatever we like, including oversleeping. Sometimes Niru oversleeps and sometimes I oversleep. It depends on the time.

Today was peculiar. I got up early. Niru was nowhere to be seen. I washed myself and dressed up. No one there. I ignored it ,took some fruits out of the fridge and made a salad. I sat down, started to eat and appreciated the silence. Today wasn't Monday, it was Tuesday. Funny. Niru should be in the house right now. And dad. I went upstairs and downstairs, finally to my dad's office room. Dad had kept me out of here ever since I was small, so I don't really know that room. I went on the corridor and leant against the wall. I heard dad talking to someone and laughing. He said bye and a phone gave out a sound. I realized that he was in a call. I opened the door and said, "Dad......" He gave me a grin and said, "Come in." I followed him and sat on a sofa. He told me that Niru went to the hospital for an hour and will come back very soon. His next news was the one I was dreading, all these years. Hayden was coming to India. I was so devastated. I loved Niru now. I said that I didn't want to marry him, and then pleaded. Dad brought out his hidden demon. He took a belt and started lashing out at me, telling me that I had to marry him. He never lashed out like this on me. He was different than he used to be. I saw the greed in his eyes. He lashed and lashed at me, until I would say that I would marry Hayden. He was wrong in that point. I never changed my decision. It was painful. After a few shots, blood came out of my mouth. I was horrified. Was this the dad who never let a drop of blood fall out of my body, years ago? Then he dragged me to the backyard, threw me in the store room located in one wall, and locked the door.

There was this door leading to the backyard in our house, and when you go through that particular door, you can see the backyard in front of you. There are two walls on either side, which makes that part of the house shaped like a digital "U". the backyard was so huge that you can hold a concert in there with all of the people in the village. Today, as I noticed, there was a platform in the backyard. Probably to announce my wedding to that cheater. As I guessed, it was true. I wanted to see what was happening in the backyard, so I peeped from under the door. Village people had flocked around the plat form, and dad was giving a Hindi speech about my upcoming marriage to Hayden. Hayden was there in person. I felt like killing him. Soon the village people left, and Hayden headed to my direction. I quickly ran to the corner of the room and turned my back to the door. "Hi gorgeous. Told you that I was returning for you," he said. "Shut up and get out!" I demanded, in anger.

I ran out of the door to escape him from touching me, and ran to Niru. "I love him. Not you!" I shouted. Dad was dumbfounded. "So you managed to befriend her, didn't you?" Hayden asked from Niru, threateningly. Suddenly, Hayden's men started streaming with weapons to kill him. To my astonishment, he started killing the men. The other men backed down. Then Hayden said that he would take his revenge, sooner or later, and left with his men. Niru ran away, promising to meet me again. Dad looked at me completely shocked. I went into the house and into my room, locked the door and lied on my bed. I don't really know what's going to happen in the future, but I can tell something. My life will take a whole new turn from today on.
