The music starts. In through the door walks the woman who took the place of my mother. Quiet envy enters my heart. She looks beautiful.

Her dark hair is tied up in a tight bun that compliments her skinny face like white does to black. Her white dress was complimentary and I thought it must have taken a long time to decide on it.

But, the envy in my heart can't seem to still.

It didn't feel like me. I knew that my father wanted this. But, I didn't think that he would have been able to forget my mother that easily.

My mother. The woman always described to me as the one I look identical to.

I could see her smiling down at me still after all this time. She really was a beautiful woman.
And the world seemed dull without her in it, as if all the light has been stolen away, and in it's place the only thing left was Evilyn.

And as she walked down the aisle, and met my father at the end of the row, both of them smiling their toothy grins, I knew my mom was suddenly replaced, and not by someone I could find in myself to wholly trust.

But for father's sake, I had to find it in my heart to be kind to her.

Maybe she wasn't so bad after all. Maybe I imagined the cruel glint in her eyes, and it really was happiness.

Maybe father was right. Maybe we could do this without mother.

Maybe...maybe...
