A fleeting dream

I'm sitting on a dark road I've known my whole life, in a small town I've known my whole life. Tall, emerald grass sways next to me, and the sun's setting. The sky blushes and purples. At the end of the road dark figures go about their daily lives and it grows cold around me.

I think of my first love, why couldn't I have your heart? You left me and this town, you left your mother. You're always leaving me, forever.

I think of my father, why did you die so early? So much changed after you left, our family grew apart. You took my heart with you. You're always leaving me, forever.

I wake up, tears in my eyes, an answer on my lips.

I've grown cold over the years, wondering what happened to me. I used to be warm, kinder. Now I know the answer.

When you both left, you took my heart. Leaving me stuck on this road, because you're always leaving me, forever.

This  is about a dream I had last night. I wanted to share what was in that dream and how I felt about it in the moment. I find that if I write my feelings down I'm able to articulate my feelings and process them, where as in real life I'm pretty terrible at expressing my emotions. Hope you all enjoy xoxox
