I sit quietly at my desk, frantically typing on my computer. Bright green numbers fill up the screen. "Come on!" I mutter to myself.
The numbers dance around the screen for a while until a white box with the words: "You have been blocked." and a picture of a purple smiley face pops up on my screen. "Damn it!" I shout, banging my hand on my desk in frustration. "I was so close!"
Suddenly, a loud buzzing noise erupts from my pocket. I pull out my phone, unlock it, and see the name Tami flashing on the screen with a picture of a woman with short, brown hair that covers her right eye, bright blue eyes, and scowl planted on her face. My boss. I groan in exasperation, press the talk button, and hold the phone up to my ear. "Hello?" I sigh heavily.
"Tori, where the hell have you been!" A loud shrill voice angrily screams at me, causing me to nearly drop my phone.
"I've been busy, Tami."
"I've been busy" She mocks. " Busy with what exactly? What's more important than your job?"
I glance over at my laptop and at a small, green flash drive protruding from the side of it. "Never mind," Tami blurts before I can say anything. "Just get your ass down here or you're fired!"
Before I can say anything more, Tami hangs up the phone. I look down at it for a minute before I finally shove it back in my pocket. " I bet you could be a nice person if you st least tried." I mutter to myself.
I walk over to my bathroom with my hairbrush in hand and a hair tie on my wrist. It's dark except for a faint glow from a duck night light. I flip on the light switch to reveal a small, nice looking bathroom covered wall to wall with ducks. My bathroom was decorated like this since I was a little girl. I was going through a faze back then and asked my mom if we could re-decorated the bathroom so it was full of ducks. -It was originally ladybugs.- It's the only part of my room that didn't change over the years. I walk across the cold hard tile and in front of a big mirror lined with ducks. A young woman, -at least 20 years old- with curly, dirty-blond hair, money green eyes, tan skin, perfect figure, and a beautiful complexion, stares at me and copies my movements as I put my hair up in to a ponytail. I look at my reflection and notice bags under my eyes. I was up all night trying to decode the files I had downloaded on to my flash-drive.
A few years ago, before I got the shitty of being the assistant for a stuck-up actress, I had been a detective. My job was to decode files or chips to find out information about recent crimes that people thought were impossible to piece together. I was the best in the business, but one day, I had been hired to decode some files about an old pizzeria called "Freddy Fazbear's". I use to love going there as a child, but not long ago, 5 kids had been murdered there,-even though there body's were never found.- I had spent most of my time trying to decode the files, but every time I was close to figuring something out, I would get kicked out and a purple smiley face would pop up and wipe away all my hard work. I had worked for years trying to solve the case, but eventually I was let go by the Captain, who thought I was loosing my touch. So I tried fulfilling my dream of becoming an actress, but ended up as Tami's assistant. I had settled down in my parents old house, still trying to uncover the mystery of "Freddy Fazbear's."
I stare at my reflection for a little longer before I walk out of my bathroom and in to my room. As I'm about to leave, I snatch up my laptop, put my flash-drive in my pocket, and grab my car keys while I slip on my sneakers. When I'm at the front door, I sigh heavily and rub the pocket that my flash-drive is in. "Wish me luck." I mutter to myself as I walk out the front door.
