HITANO

They might have briefly forgotten the whole searching for Pirena's One True Love-Muros' words, not his-but it seemed Hitano and his bandmates really need to find someone for a newly-vacant position. Even before he graduated, Icarus suggested for them to find a new member. Hindi niya kaagad nasabi ito sa iba, lalo pa't abala sila sa kani-kanilang thesis, hanggang sa nalimutan na niya ng tuluyan. Also, he was too occuppied on how to win Alena's heart that he had forgotten other issues in his life.

Like how he was the last one to arrive for their meeting that day when he shared all his classes with Pirena. Well, except that one English subject he had to retake.

"Di ba nandyan na yung kapatid mong artist?" Nakapalumbabang tanong ni Aquil kay Pirena when the band met up in the library for the first time since orientation day. At that moment, Hitano couldn't decide if Aquil was too brave or too dense. "Pagawa tayong poster na we're looking for a new member."

He didn't even notice how close it was for Pirena's eyebrows to merge into one big line. Her sister, Amihan, was such a sensitive topic for her and Hitano was smart enough not to cross it. Okay, minsan, pag nagkakapikunan lang sila and he always felt guilty afterwards-not that he would out right admit that.

"Kailangan pa ba nun?" asked Muros, typing on his silver laptop. He was doing an assignment scheduled for next week, a very practical guy. "Let's just ask some freshmen in our departments."

Pirena growled in disapproval as she was secretly munching on a pack of chocolate chips. She was never fond of the younger people, as if she wasn't one before. Hitano was also smart not to point that one out, too.

"I haven't figured out my life yet," started Hitano, slumping on the chair between Pirena and Aquil. He stole a half piece from the 'contraband', never mind the deadly stare. "Tas mag-a-ampon pa tayong first year."

"Coming from an AB major?" retorted Muros, sitting across from him. He looked slightly alarmed with the previous revelation. "Not gonna argue with the life ain't figured out bit, though."

"May office work naman." Hitano responded, earning a reverse high-five from Pirena. "Di ko ma-imagine ang sarili kong magturo."

"Same," drawled Pirena, shoving the empty wrapper in her back pocket, and returned to her phone. "Tubig."
