"What is your name?"

"Rin Sinclair, sir!"

"What is your rank?"

"First class, sir!"

"Impressive. And you are choosing to quit now?"

The redhead stood there quietly, hands behind her back. Her hair tied tightly in a high ponytail. She gave a stout nod before the tall man. He looked down to her as he paced.

"I see. Please return your clothing immediately after changing then. I can assume the paperwork has been filled out and filed away already, can I not?"

"Yes, sir!

"Good. I shall send someone to collect your clothing. Good day, Miss Sinclair."

Letting the man leave first, she stood there, head down. Finally, it was what she had waited for for a long time. Free of SOLDIER, free to live her life as she pleased. She could go out to meet people, not to kill people. The monsters weren't that much of her big problem now. The nightmares would stop. The illusions and break downs would end. Things - Things would be peaceful.

No more death. No more hate. She was done being their tool.

"I...I am not ShinRa's lapdog."

"Show us what you've got, kid."

"She has to be crazy to think she won't need a trainer. What is she aiming for?"

"She said at the very least Second Class."

"And she's only fourteen?"

"I know. I hope that she can live up to that."

The simulation began and the young girl took off. Her belt carried a machete and a regular sword. They bounced at her side as she ran up the stairs. As citizens pushed past her, she dodged each and every single one of them. She made it up the staircases in less than a minute.

Up the staircases awaited a beast of enormous portion. It was covered in scales, its eyes a crimson of blood. The monster's eyes hungered for bloodshed; it wish to devour Rin whole. Even in such a simulation, it seemed so real.

Drawing her machete, she positioned herself for attack. The beast lunged at her, which she advanced at it herself. The men watching behind the glass rose their brows in shock. That was a different approach they'd never seen before. Was she so dumb as to go to it, or was it just a mistake?

"Ya!" Rin jumped onto its snout and stabbed both of its eyes. She mashed both of its eyes out with two separate slashes.

She took a deep breath quickly and pressed two fingers on the back of its neck. She held it there, silently counting to ten. After she released, the monster's body collapsed. It growled out in anger. Taking the final blow, Rin switched to her sword as she kneeled. Rin drove the sword into its skull.

"I apologize, big guy," she mumbled. "Eh?"

She grunted as she turned, flinging her blade at the one that had aimed for her head. It stopped and the man before her smirked.
