A gentle voice filled the little boy's ears, who was laying in his small, brown bed, fitted with navy blue sheets and duvet cover. Embroidered into the black pillow case was "A.P.L", finished with a perfectly hand-sewn rose, all in white stitches. "Alex," the calm voice said, "don't worry, Alex, Momma's here," said the woman. She gave Alex a kiss on the head, and with her finger, she traced the letter 'x' over where she had kissed him. "Don't worry about what your Father says, he's just being silly. Muggle-borns are equals, Alex. They're equals, like us." A few minutes after the woman left his room, Alex was nearly asleep when a loud scream startled him. Immediately, he recognized the voice. It was his mother's.
"Why did you tell him that?!" another voice yelled, which was rather deep and masculine. "Those filthy mudbloods are nothing compared to us, nothing!"
"I'm sorry, Silver, but Alex should be taught that blood status doesn't matter!" his Mother whispered, trying not to wake the already woken Alex.
"Doesn't matter? Doesn't matter?" he scoffed. "You're telling me that those disgraceful mudbloods are like us? They are nothing like us, Rose. I don't know where you got that ridiculous idea from but I will not tolerate it in this house! Alex will be taught the truth, not your twisted fantasy!" Alex covered his ears, this is exactly the way he had been getting to sleep for the past six years of his life, those six years being all of his life.
