FAST FORWARD TO two weeks later, Echo was at the altar making last minute arrangements for Alaric and Jo's wedding, when Damon walked in. She heard him and turned around with a smile. "Hey."

"Isn't a bridesmaid's dress supposed to make you look like a freak of nature?" He jokingly questioned while walking towards her.

Echo snorted and looked down at the floor length lavender colored dress that hugged all of her curves perfectly. "I wouldn't know seeing as I've never been to a wedding."

"Well, you look beautiful," he genuinely complimented causing her to grin affectionately. "You always do."

"Thank you." She nodded and stepped closer to him to pull him into a quick kiss. "You look dashing," she complimented as she looked down at the really nice suit he is wearing.

He smirked. "I always look dashing." He looked over her shoulder at the alter, his eyes glazed over as he thought about something.

"What's wrong?" The youngest Winchester asked with a slight frown.

Damon looked her in the eyes, seeming a little nervous. He tugged at his tie a little and swallowed thickly.

There she stood — the love of his immortal life — standing in front of a beautiful alter, the sun shining on her through the huge windows, making her look like she was radiating the sunlight. Her black hair was straight and flowing down her back and there was purple streaks in it because she had wanted to something different.

He swallowed once again as he reached into his pockets, his hands clenching, one pocket being the one that held a small, velvety ring box. Now was the perfect time to propose — he knew that, he's seen it all the time in those romance movies Caroline had forced him to watch. But how did someone go about doing that? Did they just pull out the ring and go, 'Will you marry me?', or wait for the other person to talk first? There were so many questions left unanswered for Damon, all of which left his undead heart hammering in his chest, but the biggest unanswered question for him was; will she even say yes?

"Echo," Damon said suddenly, and his girlfriend straightened her self once she heard his voice raise slightly. He was sweating, it was obvious, but he didn't care; this was his moment of bravado. He whipped the ring box out of his pocket so fast that Echo couldn't make out what it was, and rapidly changed his position from standing to kneeling on the floor with the box in his hands.

Echo's eyes widened and her mouth gaped as Damon sputtered, "Remember three years ago, even though I was a vampire, you said that you trusted me and how you went behind Elena's back to help me find a way to get to Katherine? That day, I knew I could trust you and that was the first time I felt anything other than annoyance and hatred in years. I think that is really the moment I fell in love with you. Everyone was trying so hard to get you to not be around me and you being so persistent to be my friend even though I did so many stupid things, only made me realize I can't imagine a life without you, Echo Marilyn Elaine Winchester-Gilbert. You complete me... it's like you're my other half. I want to spend an eternity and more with you. Will you do me the greatest honor and become my wife?"
