Chapter Two:

I was lying there on the ground with my vision gone, but my hearing was still wavering. I couldn't tell how long it had been since I fell to the ground, flowing in and out of consciousness like a salmon fighting against the different currents of a river. What was strange, though, is that, all of a sudden, it felt like my concerned, even fearful, emotions from the predicament, vanished. Just as those overwhelming emotions subsided, I swear I could hear two angels speaking around me.
Their voices echoed in my head as I listened closely. "I knew there was something wrong; I could tell by her heartbeat" The male angelic creature above me spoke in the smoothest of tones.

"Shush, Jasper! Don't tell me something I already know," the silky voice of the other angel, or more so the voice of what seemed like a gentle fairy, replied with a somewhat playful hint to her language.

"She's fainted, but her heartbeat, nor her breath, has evened, we need to grab her."

"And take her where, exactly?" The girl questioned her partner.
"To Carlisle."

"He's still at the hospital on shift, right?"

"I believe so." The conversation ended with his last spoken thought and I could feel the strong, yet freezing grip of one of them. My limp body was being picked up bridal style. After I was adjusted, I could barely tell we started moving. It was swift with what felt like the speed of an airplane; it was inhuman. "You'll be alright, trust us..."

"Are these people truly angels? There's no other explanation of the speed, the coolness of their skin... I feel as if I'm flying, so it must be... right?" I thought to myself as I slipped away completely.

I woke up to the blinding fluorescents on the ceiling of a hospital room and my overacting, dramatic aunt talking to a pale, gorgeous doctor with almost albino-like blond hair.

"Winnie?" I cleared my dry throat.

My aunt responded with a gasp, "Amy! My beautiful, beautiful, fantastic niece, Amy! You're alright!" She ran in, giving me a long, tight hug, yet, thankfully, the doctor interrupted her gushy scene with an uncomfortable clearing of his throat.

"Hi there, Amelia, I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to introduce myself earlier, I'm Dr. Cullen, but Carlisle is fine," he reached out his hand for me to shake, in which I happily took. "It seems your blood sugar was high which is common to occur at times for people with type one diabetes such as yourself. From now on, please remember to take your insulin," he ended with a small smile. "You are free to check out whenever you feel ready," then, he left the room.

"Hey, Winnie, before we check out, I have a quick question, how did you find me..?" I shared a quizzical expression.

"Oh, I didn't, Amybear. Two of your classmates found you. How sweet of them, don't you agree?" She seemed as giddy as usual when she answered my question.

I told Winnie that she could go on ahead and I'd meet her at the front desk. I gathered my things and headed down the hall in search of my two mysterious rescuers. I saw two classmates of mine, talking to each other in the corner of the hall. I shielded myself with a brave face and gulped as I approached them.

"Hi, you may not remember me, but I'm Amelia, I have History with you," I locked eyes with the honey-haired man in front of me.
"And I've seen you around as well," I acknowledged the girl as well.

"Yes, you're right we do," he gave the slightest of smirks to me, "I'm Jasper. Nice to meet you, Amelia."

I gulped once more as I noticed the deeper, drawn out tone he used while referencing my name.

"Oh, I know!" The burgundy brunette held my hand in hers as she giggled. "I'm Alice, I'm so happy to finally meet you!"

I decided to cut to the chase; there was a reason I approached them and I wasn't going to forget that.

"Uhm... well... you see, u-uh..." they stared in wait for me to spit it out. "Well..." I took a deep breath and blurted it all out, "I heard the people who found me were classmates and I you two are the only class mates I see around so I was wondering if you were the ones that helped me?" I gasped in a big gulp of hair when I finished rushing out those words.

Jasper responded with his simple smirk while folding his arms over his chest, on the other hand, Alice nodded cheerfully.

"Well, then, uh... I guess a thank you is in order, so thank you, I highly appreciate it." I turned to walk away, back towards the front desk where Winnie was waiting, when I was stopped by a hand on my wrist. I felt a rush of adrenaline strike me like lightning through every cell in my body. The electric pulse I felt radiating from her grip on my wrist made me blush, yet I couldn't quite tell why, at least not in that moment. I turned around to face my holder.

"Hey, you should sit with us at our lunch table from now on! I mean it didn't look like you had anyone to sit with anyway." She smiled innocently.

"Wow, what a way to word it. Yes, I don't have friends yet, you didn't have to point that out!" I thought to myself with discomfort.

"Alice!" Jasper snapped at her almost immediately, "basically she's saying that we'd both like it if you could join us at our table, darlin'."

I just nodded in response. Then, I waved to them as I started walking towards the front desk to check out.
