The traffic sucked, I honked my horn "Jesus could you people move!" My phone rang, normally I wouldn't pick it up because I'd like to think of myself as a good driver but considering the lack of movement coming from the road, I answered. A stern male voice was on the other end "Hello is this Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulsons wife?" at first I was confused "Uh yes, this is she, may I ask who's speaking?" I asked politely hoping it wasn't a stupid prank. "Hi this is Dr.Stevens, Lily you're wife has been in a car accident.." The phone feel out of my hand, my heart stopped beating, my vision got blurry from tears, the entire world had stopped spinning. Without any thinking needed, I weaved through traffic and raced to the hospital. I could barely stand nevermind think straight. My shoes were long gone as I raced towards emergency, throwing dividers open looking for that farmiliar face. My boy went numb. Sarahs belongings were inside a ziplock bag covered with blood. Sarah lay there, tubes connecting from machines to her arms and nose. She looked so peacefl while being surrounded by chaos. "Hello, I'm guessing you're Lily?" Dr. Stevens had said as he approached me with a clipboard. "Yes, what happened? Is she going to be ok? Will she survive?" The words flying right out of mouth leaving me no time for breathing. "Well, Sarah had been driving when the vehicle in front of her had stopped, causing her car to crash into it. Sarah's has a handful of injuries." I could feel myself fighting for air, fighting to find something to keep me breathing. "Some of her injuries are very treatable, others well we'll just have to hope for the best. We have Sarah written down for, fractured left rib, broken leg, brken left wrist, internal bleeding from the rib, which we stopped when she first came in." I nodded with some relief knowing those were smaller things. "The only thing is that when the two cars crashed together, her airbag almost did too well of a job. The blow from the airbag caused her need to hit the headrest on her seat very hard. The contact with the seat caused Sarah to have a brain hemorrhage which is a type of stroke. In a sipler form what happened was that as her head made contact with the seat an artery in her brain, bursted open causing bleeding in the tissue in her head, this kills brain cells." My head started getting light and my balance was no longer. I fell onto a nearby chair breaking down into tears. "Will she survive?" I asked hoping to hear the best possible answer. "Mrs. Rabe you need to understand that what happened was very traumatic and we're doing everything we possibly can. I'm not saying that she won't make it but I'm also not saying that she will." My whole body fell into shock. Why,why Sarah. I was told minutes later that she had been transferred into surgery. I immediately began to get my breathing back, knowing that everything was getting taken care of. I walked over to her room and sat down in the chair in the corner, hoping to get some rest. I heard a quiet knock at the door "Come in." I responded, it was Dr. Stevens. "Hi Mrs. Rabe I have good and bad news, good news is that Sarahs minor injuries have all been taken care of and she's been put in casts where needed. I sighed in relief. "Bad news is that we stopped the bleeding in her head but but like I said before the bleeding kills brain cells. Mrs. Rabe we aren't sure if Sarah still has all of her memory." His words seemed to trail off into the distance as I tried processing this new information. She isn't dead. She's alive and she's going to stay that way but she maybe won't remember me. Tears swelled up in my eyes as I thought about life without Sarah loving me. I managed to calm myself down "Thank you so much for everything Dr. Stevens, will she be back soon?" Dr. Stevens nodded and gave me some privacy. I settled my things down and started fixing myself up. I heard the door open and Sarah's bed roll in. I splashed some water in my face and looked in the mirror "Lily just breathe." I slowly walked out of the bathroom towards her bed. Sarah was awake and looked at me for second " Oh my god! Lily thank god, baby I was so worried." "I love you so much" my words were cut off by a gentle kiss from Sarah " I love you too Lily."
