Writing Contest Entry: The Blood of Olympus Epilogue

Epilogue: Leo

The war was over. Gaea was gone. When it had ended, I had died. But now I am back. I retrieved Calypso from Ogygia. I am Leo Valdez.

When I came back to camp and was reunited with my friends, tears were shed. Piper slapped me for scaring her so badly. Calypso lived at camp for a while. She made friends with everyone, even Percy.

Calypso and I stayed at Camp Half-Blood for three more years ever since we came back. Calypso lost her immortality, however, she did not care one bit. Percy proposed to Annabeth in our second year. With no hesitation whatsoever, she screamed,"YES!" at the top of her lungs. Jason and Piper were married soon after. Surprisingly, Frank and Hazel were married before Calypso and I.

The life of a demigod wasn't too bad. In fact, now that all the wars were over with, it was perfect. Even when they had grown to the age of adults, you could still see Connor and Travis running around with stink bombs in their hands. When some of the demigods were grown, some chose to go back into the mortal world. Others stayed at camp or went to New Rome in Camp Jupiter.

It was never unusual to walk around Camp Half-Blood and see people in purple shirts. Nor was it unusual to see orange shirts at Camp Jupiter. Both camps got along fine. The portal the Hecate kids out up was always active.

It was a beautiful sight, strolling around camp and seeing Romans and Greeks hanging out together in the strawberry fields. The gods, were fine with it. Everyone got along and all was at peace.

In the third year Calypso and I stayed here since I came back, I proposed. I remember every detail. It was at a camp sing along. All of the seven were there, most of Camp Jupiter was there. I remember myself saying,"Before we all return to our cabins, I have something important to say." Immediately Percy brought out Riptide. I waved my hand dismissively and pulled out a silver box from my pocket.

I knelt down on one knee before Calypso and said,"Calypso, will you do the honor of becoming a permanent member of Team Leo and marrying me?" I remember standing there in silence. Then I heard my Sunshine squeal in delight,"YES!" I stood up and brushed the dirt from my pants. Calypso tackled me to the ground and hugged me. When I managed to get back on my feet, Jason patted me on the back and chuckled,"It was about time."

After Calypso and I were married, we moved into the city. There we started Leo and Calypso's Auto Repair Shop. We still kept close contact with the Seven and the camps. The shop was an absolute success. Sometimes I heard people in conversation saying,"Just take it the Leo and Calypso's Auto Repair Shop. They can fix and make anything."

There were people who asked Calypso and I,"How did you two meet?" We would grin at each other and I would say,"Well, we never were the best of friends. But I guess I just fell for her." There were people who'd say to me,"Wow, you would die for her wouldn't you?" My answer was always,"You have no idea."

Calypso and I lived a happy, peaceful life. The Seven were never far. We lived very close to camp.

Even when we grew old, we worked in Leo and Calypso's Auto Repair Shop. Occasionally, the Seven or their children would come by and help us. Our children Sammy and Sunshine always helped us out. These children grew up always knowing that they were descended from the gods. It was better for them that way. And they loved it.

When it was time for us to retire, we did. But you could always see Calypso and I in the shop with the Seven, their children and our children. And as I looked around me seeing Percy and Annabeth with their children Sally and Luke, Jason and Piper with their son Tristan, Frank and Hazel with their daughter Ruby, and finally Calypso with Sammy and Sunshine, I realized that my life was fulfilled. I would follow every single one of these people to the end of the earth. Even when we died, I would be able to see them in Elysium with me.

Everything was perfecto.
