Senior year. We made it! Almost. Since this was my last year of highschool, I fully intended to live it to the fullest. Excluding all the normal drama. Like junior year, but that is a different story. My goal was to have had at least one successful relationship and the best time with my besties.

"Jade!"

I turned around to see Katrina running awkwardly towards me with her backpack swinging around.

I smiled,  "Are you trying to get somewhere?"

She stopped next to me breathing heavily. "Some math class I think." Katrina reached in her pocket. She pulled a crumpled piece of paper with smudged ink.

"Nice job. And it's the first day. Usually it's the second week we have to go to the office for some nonsense." I said sarcastically.

She glared at me, "Oh yeah is that so?"

"Indeed," I nodded, "Can we just get it over with?"

Katrina rolled her eyes and strutted down the hall. I followed beside her.

The rain poured down as we sat in the office patiently waiting for her name to be called.

"Katrina Collins."

I leaped up out of the chair and walked to the office lady. The office lady handed Katrina her paper.

"Omg, it's yellow paper this time! Isn't that crazy." I pointed.

"You're not funny." She huffed and stormed out of the office. Using the paper as an umbrella.

I skipped merrily, "Do I really have to tell you?"

"What?" The rain poured heavier as she stomped.

I shrugged my shoulders, "The rain will blur the ink. Again." She glanced at the paper above her head and pulled it down.

We walked to the overhang and observed her schedule. We shared four classes. Not including the extra curricular activities. I gave her a thumbs up and waved goodbye. The bell would ring soon and my class was across campus. As I was making way to class, I noticed the quad had puddles and the sidewalks were beginning to flood.

I saw Talian and Angela walking in class. I rushed to catch up.

"Hey Adams, how was hot girl summer?" Talian joked as we took seats next to each other. Then he proceeded to run his deep brown curls. I can't believe I'm friends with an fboy. That's life.

"Probably as good as Angela's fake tan."

Angela whirled around in her chair and tilted her head. "My fake tan?"

"Yes. It cuts off at your ankles." Talian leaned back and put his arms behind his head.

I rolled my eyes and focused on the class and bluntly ignored all of Talian's jokes.

The bell rang.

Me and Angela chatted while Talian flirted with a nearby cheerleader.

"Can he be more basic? Cheerleader. Come on dude step up your game." I chuckled.

Angela nodded, "I have algebra something next, what about you?"

I glanced at my paper, "I've got AP Drawing and Painting. Sorry."

She shrugged and walked away. I turned to Talian. "Time to go. I'm assuming you have AP."

He nodded and made flirtatious joke to the cheerleader. She giggled. Talian got off the desk. We walked to the door.

I felt someone's hand push me. I fell into a wet puddle. My head hit the sidewalk. I heard someone giggle. I pushed myself up and whirled around. It was the cheerleader.

"Wow. What a cluts. Be careful." She waved her hand and strode off.

Talian was laughing with his hand over his mouth.

"Talian, give me your jacket." I demanded as I attempted to squeeze the water out.

He made a puppy face, "You never said please."

I punched him in the shoulder. He tossed his jacket to me. We walked as I stripped my shirt off and put his jacket on. From the corner of my eye I saw him peek at me.

The jacket was warm and smelled like he dumped cologne all over it. Disgusting.

"Adams?" He sheepishly smiled.

I glanced over my shoulder, "What?"

"Now I'm cold." He put out his arms. I went under his arm and he hugged me. It was an awkward hugging angle but I didn't mind. And neither did he.
