"I love this time of year," Hailey said as she hung ornaments on the big tree in the center of the town.
"I love all the presents," Aiden said.
"No surprise there," Autumn whispered to Hailey.
Aiden shot them a death glare. The two girls giggled.
"You know what we should do?" Chase asked as he flew down from placing the star on the tree.
"Exchange presents?" Aiden asked hopefully.
"No, we should take a group photo in front of the tree we just decorated," Chase replied.
"Yeah, and we should put Christmas decorations on our wings!" Autumn exclaimed.
Everyone laughed at Autumn's idea, but soon found themselves draping Christmas decorations over their wings and putting on winter clothing.
After they finished decorating themselves, Hailey said, "Well, now that all of us are decorated, who's going to take the picture and how?"
Chase pulled out a digital camara from his pocket. Just then, Bree walked by.
"What in Aeolus are you morons up to now?" Bree asked in her usual tone.
Autumn grabbed Chase's camara and ran up to Bree.
"We need someone to take our picture. Will you please take it for us?" Autumn asked sweetly.
"Ugh, fine. Consider this my present to you," Bree replied as she snatched the camara from Autumn.
Everyone huddled close together and smiled as Bree took their picture. Then, Bree handed the camara back to Autumn and walked off.
"Is it just me, or did Bree seem... nice?" Hailey asked.
Everyone just shrugged.
"Hey, Autumn. Could you take a picture of Chase and me?" Aiden asked.
"Sure," Autumn replied as Aiden put his arm around his best friend's shoulders and smiled.
Chase put his arm around Aiden's shoulders as well and smiled.
After Autumn took the picture, she handed the camara to Aiden and asked, "Will you take a picture of Hailey and me?"
"Sure," Aiden replied.
They took turns taking pictures of each other.
After a few minutes, Chase said, "Guys, you're going to use up all my memory."
"That's the point," Aiden joked.
Chase snatched the camara out of Aiden's hands.
"Aw, come on, Chase. Just one more picture?" Aiden pleaded.
"No. It's getting late anyway," Chase replied.
"Yeah, I'm getting kind of tired," Autumn said with a yawn as she started walking home.
Aiden followed Autumn.
"Bye, guys," Chase said.
"Hold on, aren't you coming with us?" Aiden asked.
"No, Hailey and I are going to decorate some more," Chase replied.
"We are?" Hailey asked, confused.
"Ok, well, bye then," Aiden replied as if he didn't hear Hailey.
"Chase, what was that all about?" Hailey asked after the others were out of view.
"I...wanted to give you this," Chase said as he picked up a present from behind a bush.
Hailey took the present and unwrapped it carefully. Then, she opened the box.
"Chase, it's...beautiful," Hailey said as she dropped the box and examined her new bow.
The bow was decorated with different colors of small gems that sparkled as the sun set.
"You really like it?" Chase asked.
"Of course! It's the most beautiful bow I have ever seen!" Hailey exclaimed as she wrapped Chase in a hug.
"Oh my gosh! I almost forgot about your present," Hailey said as she ran towards the castle.
"Follow me!" she called.
Chase followed Hailey to her room. When they got there, Hailey took out a box from under her bed.
"I managed to find one of these," Hailey said as she handed Chase the box.
Chase opened the box.
"Wow! A golden sword!" Chase exclaimed.
"Shhh, quiet down unless you want to wake the entire castle," Hailey replied.
"Sorry, it's just...I have heard about these before but I never really thought they existed," Chase said.
Chase held up the sword. The gold shined like the sun, even in Hailey's room. The handle was decorated with bits of silver and copper.
"Wow, thanks, Hailey," Chase said as he gave Hailey a hug.
"Anytime, Chase," Hailey replied.
They said good-bye, then Chase left. Hailey sat down on her bed, looking at her new bow.
This bow is amazing. Where in the world did Chase find it? Hailey thought as she looked at the bow closely.
Soon, Hailey got tired and went to bed. The next morning, everyone gathered together for a Christmas feast.
