Night looked over her territory. It had increased greatly with her new mate. He was much better at keeping his scent around. She turned quickly, hearing rushing paw steps.
"Alpha Night!" Paws greeted her with a worried look.
Not often was there bad news, Night frowned, "What's going on?"
"Alpha Eclipse told me to report he found something strange has come close to the territory. He said to put everyone on their most cautious behavior. Omega is watching the pups." Paws panted as she finished.
Something strange? That simply wasn't enough information, and unlike him to not tell her himself. "Thank you." Night nodded and ran towards where she last saw her mate.
She ran as fast as she could, but something told her to keep quiet. She slowed herself, going as quietly and quickly as possible. She looked around. She was near the lake towards the south of her territory. She sniffed around and picked up his scent. She followed it to strange tracks in the mud. They were lines but with little markings on the inside. If this is a creature, it doesn't pick up its feet. Then she found wolf tracks, most likely her mate's. They were light. He's most likely slinking and following whatever made the other tracks. She followed his tracks quietly, until his scent was strong; but then there was some other scent. There was a loud bang, which made her flinch and back into the foliage more.
"WOOO WEE! We already got one guys! Can you believe that little sucker was following us!" A scraggly creature shouted and hopped around the other two on two legs.
"Be quiet, Charley! We are camping, idiot." A not as scrawny similar creature smacked the one it called Charley.
Another creature appeared, larger than the rest and handed them little white sticks, "Well let's celebrate with some cigarettes. I put the supplies in the back of the pick up." It closed one eye at the others, " Why don't we settle down around the tents."
The creatures walked off.
Night slinked around there little territory. She found a large thing being held up by circles with a shiney center. The strange tracks ended where the thing sat. She slowly aproached it and sniffed. It didn't move. So this isn't alive, but it has tracks, strange. The other creatures were drinking from strange brown containers and making an obnoxious noise. They seemed to be happy, whatever they were doing.
Night suddenly remembered the reason she even came in this general direction. Eclipse. She sniffed around frantically, and looked for any hints of his presence. A strong scent filled her nose, she sneezed she hated the scent. Wolf's blood.
That was enough for her. Night ran away from the strange creatures territory and back to her den.
