Mia is waken by the sound of someone at her door, it's weird because noone ever visits her. It's an even bigger surprise when she looks at her survailence screen and sees that it's the protecters.

They're a sort of police officer, her father told her about how it was when they were young, and these men weren't any different.

They ring her doorbell once again and wait impatiently for her to get to the door. When she does, they're the ones who get a surprise.

One of the protectors looks at the other one as if saying "Are you sure this is her?" and Mia all but bursts out in laughter.

But instead she narrows her eyes and asks them angrily,

"Did you want something?"

The look away from eachother and down at her. She's far from short, her biological father was a giant and her mother was of average height, So she would have to be tall in some way.

She also has golden blonde hair that flows down her back in a wave of curls, with fair skin and a beautiful body and face. It's understandable that they would think that.

But as always, looks can be deceiving, They both smile their plastic smiles and one of them says,

"Sorry to disturb you at such an early time of the day, but we've actually got an order for your arrest."

Her eyes all but bug out of her head, but she turns away so that they won't see, all she can think is 'I couldn't have been caught'

She was right, there was no way anyone could ever catch her, it's like she was born with eyes behind her back. Or maybe she grew them so that she could keep them on Gemma.

Gemma

Just her name fills Mia with such depressing thoughts that she can't stand it, she looks back at the two men and puts her hands out in front of her, then she says.

"Alright, I'm ready, Let's go"

They blink in surprise and one of them breaks out into laughter. She glares at them and then they sober up, the same one that spoke up befores does so again,

"Ma'am, we don't have to cuff you. We're sure you haven't done anything, how could you?"

Mia's eyebrows shoot up at the suspicious behavior, she knows that it's part of the new law that everyone in suspicion of a crime be taken into custody and cuffed all the way.

That's when she realizes that these men aren't really protectors and that they're actually working for her enemy, She frowns. Then she moves back and slams the door in their faces just as one of the men is reaching into their gun-holster.

Almost instantly Mia hears them trying to open the door, and when that doesn't work, they start slamming their overgrown bodies into it.

When that fails them, one of the goons says in a creepy tone,

"We know you're still in here Mia, just open the door and maybe we can kill you nicely."

A burning anger fills Mia's heart at his words, as if she'd ever be scared of anyone as nasty and stupid as them. She can take their lives in a moment, but she reserves that fate for those who hurt not only her, but anything she stands for.

So instead of going out there and showing them what she's really about, she turns on the heel of her steel toed boots and runs to the window of her fifth story apartment complex.

Her things are all still in there, but its only the materialistic things, nothing she can't replace. So she grabs her bag and slings it across her shoulder before opening the window and heaving herself out of it.

It's a good thing there's a huge pile of trash bags right under her window, otherwise she'd have to jump onto solid concrete.

Mia takes in a short breath of air before closing her eyes and brasing for impact. But when she does land, all she really feels is a slight stab at her side and then she's down. Free.

But it's not for a very long time because before she knows it, the "protectors" are out of the building and running straight at her.

"Stop now and we won't kill you, slowly." the same idiot who spoke to her says.

Mia doesn't even waste time being scared, she turns around and starts a mad-dash towards freedom. Well, all the freedom a street full of people can give her.

Her mind is so busy watching the streets and alleys in front of her that she doesn't hear the bullets being shot, or feel one of them get her on the shoulder.

But when she does get into a street full of people on their way to work- or whatever they do in this new age- she mixes in with the crowd and ducks down low just in case.

She can hear the grunts of anger from the people who're being pushed out of the way by the goons and starts running again to make sure they won't have any chance of catching up.

Mia runs down a long stretch of stores and shops and finally runs sideways into a lonely neighborhood block.

Slowing her run to a walk now, she catches her breath and looks back to make sure they haven't followed her. They haven't.

All she can think is ' I got lucky ' and after that, 'what now?'

Now that she's free of danger for the moment, where will she go? What will she do?

But instead of worrying about where she will go and what she will do. Mia starts thinking how they found her, or if they know what she's doing. If they catch her now and lock her away she'll go insane.

Not only because she hates being around people she doesn't like, but because she is terrified of being locked in a cell. She still has nightmares of when she was locked in a cell with her mother, and how their captures treated her, what they did to her.

That is why she needs to be strong, she has to fight so nothing like that will ever happen to her again, ever.

That thought calms her, it gives her the strength to keep walking until she stops in front of a house. Its nothing special, just another one of those fancy new houses they've built for everyone.

There's something off about this one though, it's as if Mia has been there, lived there. That's when it hits her, This was the place where Nans old house used to be.

Lucky for Mia, it's abandoned. So she goes into the backyard of the new house and steps in front of the back door.

Before she can even try the knob, the door opens itself.

Its as if the house itself knows who the owner is, and it knows that the soul of said owner is living inside Mia.

So she pushes the door lightly and steps into the empty house. It looks nothing like she would picture it, and it's like her Nans soul is telling her this to, because a sudden chill travels down her spine.

There's nothing wrong with it really, new furniture ready for the family or newly weds who plan to live here. But just like she got the feeling of familiarity. Mia gets a feeling of fear, its traveled from her spine and engulfed her body in goose-flesh.

It's then that she realizes why, Mia is not alone in this house. A dark and creepy voice speaks up from behind her.

"Greeting Mia. You look beutiful today, just like every other day. It has been a while since i've gotten to see you, Angel."

Mia turns around and her heart freesez.

Lucas.
