We are delighted to announce the script writer for this contest - Katie Ford!
Katie has almost thirty years of experience as a script writer in Hollywood and has very kindly offered to have a one hour 1-1 with the winner.
Katie Ford has been a movie and television writer in Hollywood for almost 30 years (she started very young!) Though best known for writing and producing the hit comedy Miss Congeniality, Katie has written for both comedy and drama with credits as varied as Desperate Housewives, Wonderful World of Disney's critically acclaimed Little House on the Prairie mini-series, and TNT's Transporter series.
Her work has been nominated for Emmy's and Golden Globe Awards. She has rewritten and done comedy polishes for dozens of Hollywood movies.
Katie believes in talent of young people since she herself started her career at 14 when she became a standup comic in Toronto (yes she is Canadian!), then she read a book about how to write for TV in her high school library and started writing plays and teleplays.
Katie's first play was produced when she was 19 and starred her LA roommate at the time, fellow Canadian, Keanu Reeves.
Katie started writing on an NBC comedy Family Ties when she was just 21 years old and has been working ever since.
She is excited to share the tools of the trade with young writers on Wattpad to help them soar!
