As a First Lieutenant and a combat medic specialist in the army, 23 year old Marley McCall has seen her fair share of action. So as she finishes her second deployment overseas, a trip back home in order to recollect, rest, and visit with her family is the perfect piece of tranquility that she needs.

She isn't surprised to find that her little brother, Scott, and his best friend, Stiles, haven't changed a bit in the time she had been gone. After their first few years of highschool, it seems as if they've found new ways to get into trouble. Unbeknownst to her, the trouble was going to find her, too.

It only takes a few weeks for her charming home town of Beacon Hills to turn into yet another battlefield filled with violence and loss. As she learns new things about the people and the places she had grown up around, Marley has no choice but to fight alongside her new brothers and sisters in arms: a pack.
