A Loving Death

42 2 1

'While yonder though thy window breaks' Though the shards my cut my skin

The wounds will be healed with your love

As beautiful as the white dove

As gentle as the somber sea

Your love is always with me

Did thou's love come with the changing wind?

Or did thy God put this blessing upon me?

I know death will not be the end

Because though the dagger pierces my heart I feel no pain

I know only sadness

For I will hold your hand no longer

For I will not see you on the morrow

All I feel is sorrow, sorrow

For the knife that pierced my heart was of your blood

On the morrow I shall wake

And look upon thy Heaven's gate

There I shall sit

Not crossing but waiting

Not crossing but waiting

For thou's love return with the changing wind
