Today is the dreadful day, the day that I must go and start at my new school. I shouldn't be this nervous because I've done this a dozen times, but I still get shaky every time I have to start somewhere new. At least Luke taught me the basics; not to go near Ginny and her 'group' because she'll tear me to shreds as if I was a freshman, Mrs. Ace gives a ton of homework and is willing to give anyone a detention, and to not hang out in the library for too long or the nerds will attach to me like moths to a flame.

I don't know how different this will be because I was getting used to the schools in New York, but now I'm in Sydney and pretty much everything is different except for the language. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. The worst thing about my father's job is moving to new places and starting new at a school where no one knows that I exist. I can't even comprehend a sentence that explains my feeling of rancor towards having to introduce myself to new people. I hate it so much that I actually went on Google and searched if there was a phobia for it.

"Hey, if you keep shaking I'm gonna have to tie you up in a straight jacket." Luke laughs and waves a hand in front of my face. He volunteered to walk me to my first period class, English, because his class was right next door. I made sure that I had my schedule in hand before I entered this school, so I wouldn't be running around the halls like a headless chicken. The only classes me and Luke have together were science, history, lunch and home EC. The rest of the day I'm left to figure thing out for myself and try to meet new people.

"I know right," I breathe calming myself a little bit. "I've done this a million times but I still get scared. I'm surprised that I was able to be friendly with you so easily." I grab my elbow with the opposite hand looking at the ground as this little conversation began to drift towards the awkward side. "Well," Luke says stopping my steady pace by standing in front of me. He grabs my chin and delicately lifts it up so I am forced to make eye contact. "If you ever need someone to talk with about your day or rant about how terrible Mrs. Ace is, I'll be right - here." He smiles gesturing to my side, large, baby blue eyes staring down my small green ones. How could someone be so innocent and endearing one moment, but then deep and alluring the next?

"Hey! Luke! I see ya got yourself an unfamiliar lady friend..." A troublesome looking boy with blue hair and an eyebrow piercing shouts at Luke breaking our unintentional staring contest. "Is it serious? Cause I might be up for second grabs." He says wiggling his pierced brow up and down.

"Fuck off sleaze bag." I bark at the disgusting excuse for a person right in front of me.

"Whoa, whoa!" Luke pushes on my shoulders with his hands. "This is Michael." He said looking me square in the eyes. I tilt my head in confusion, was I supposed to know who Michael was? "You know, my friend I told you about. The 'crazy' one?" He says through gritted teeth. Oh. Oh. "Oh my gosh! I- I'm so sorry." I feel my cheeks instantly warm up in embarrassment. "It's fine he get's that answer from every girl he hits on. Hi I'm Calum." Are all Australians tall? I'm at least 5'5" and all three of these boys tower over me. "Well I'm 1.93 meters or 6 foot 4 inches, Cal and Mikey are 6 foot 1 inch and Ashton is 6 foot. To answer your question Emily." Luke says smirking.

"Wait, what? Did I say that out loud?" Jesus Christ I'm a big pile of embarrassment. "Yeah you sorta did, but you learn something new everyday." Calum speaks up trying his hardest to stifle a laugh. "Come on let's get to class before Yorkie comes over here and kicks me in the balls." Michael says hinting at my New York moment just minuets ago. This might not be the way to do it but it seems like I'm actually making friends.

This school is bigger than I expected, I'm so lucky I have Luke to guide me around or I would be the laughing stock of the school just from the first day. Another good thing is that my brother is done with high school and is looking for colleges because he's a little too protective over me and probably would have kicked Michael in the balls without a doubt.
