In the small town of Beacon Hills, a little girl discovered a boy her age that shared the same traumatic story as her; one of their parents physically and mentally abused them. They were hesitant to become friends at first, worried they would get in trouble for sharing the secrets of what happened behind closed doors.
The two grew inseparable over the years with their secret friendship. They found a safe haven amongst each other when their lives became too much, knowing the other would understand what they were going through. Their friendship grew strong, both of them believing nothing could ever tear them apart until the day the little boy's father found out about what they were doing.
Riley Jordan was heartbroken when her best friend, Isaac Lahey, abruptly stopped talking to her freshman year of high school. Her hope diminished at his departure and decision to completely ignore her like she didn't even exist.
She eventually decided to treat him the same way.

Hi. Decided to temporarily bring this story back for the time being.
If you read my post the other day about a death in my family, you saw how I am distracting myself from reality and grounding myself by writing whatever story distracts me for the time being. Which just so happens to be this story right now.
If any of you day 1 readers remember, I originally started this story in 2015 before I ultimately returned it back to my drafts. The idea is still the same, just rewritten because my writing back then was NOT GOOD.
