Mommy used to tell me that everything was okay.
Something in her eyes proved that it wasn't.
I told her I believed her. I wanted to believe that those false words were true.
There was either screaming or silence.
Both were excruciating one way or another.

Daddy would be extremely joyful.
He'd sing with me and pretend we were fighting against dragons.
In a blink of an eye he'd be red in the face.
So much pain was thrown into me... literally.
There was either screaming or silence.
Both were excruciating one way or another.

A fragile mockingbird who's curious and shy.
Hated the noise but hated the piercing silence even more.
An innocent bird in the middle of a war.
"This is between the parents," was all that was told.
The crucial things that happened are scars in a broken past.
I'm a fragile mockingbird who knows that there's either screaming or silence.
Both were excruciating one way or another.
