Gods, it's difficult to focus on the presentation when Saoirse is right there. At least it's over now.

The best part was seeing Ben's face when I knocked him down a peg in front of his whole class. I just couldn't stand watching Saoirse cry like that. Ben can get a little short-tempered, and I know he didn't sleep well last night. The dark circles under his eyes told me that much. I really should see if anything's wrong....

But I'm glad I stepped in. It let me get to the presentation faster, and probably added to the shock factor of having the guest pop out of the back of the building.

As I was packing up, Ben approached me.

"Wren, can we talk please?"

"Yeah, what's up?" I ask, worried that I stepped a bit out of line.

"You really can't just tell me off like that in front of my students. The other teachers might make fun of me." He pouts a little, and I can't help laughing. "No, but really, the administrators might get a bit fussy about the whole situation and you making the school look bad."

"Well, don't yell at your students so much and get some sleep and then maybe I won't tell you you shouldn't yell at your students." I smile, finishing up packing and walking to the door before pausing. "See you tomorrow, Ben."

I walk out the door and the first thing I notice is Saoirse sitting on the bench opposite of the door, earbuds in, scrolling through her phone with a look of concentration.

"Why, hello there. Fancy seeing you here." I grin, noticing the light blush that paints her pale cheeks.

"Hi Wr- Ms. Williams." she stutters, pocketing her phone and standing up.

"You can call me Wren outside of class," I say, chuckling a little, "When we aren't in that room, we're just a year of college apart. Don't worry about being all formal and stuff."

"Ah, right. Wren." She says, as if testing the word on her tongue. Gods, she's adorable.
