A Long Way to Heal

Chapter 7

The next morning I run into Todd again.

"Hey Susanna your grandmother requested that I show you around our little town here."
"Ok!" I said as he grabs my hand and leads me into town.

"Just to warn you everybody here really wants to meet you so if someone comes out of nowhere and says hi then yeah..........."
"It's fine I'm sure it can't be that bad."
Sadly I was mistaken, the moment we step foot in town a swarm of people surround us asking me the strangest of questions like Have you ever sang a high c well wearing tutu and dancing the cut. ( it's a real dance move) I thought these people were crazy and then Todd quickly drags me to safety and this is the part where I meet the most amazing elderly man ever. We walked into what appeared to be a sweets shop and there you see a man with a name tag with the name Ernie on it. He was multitasking to the extreme like cooking well taking orders and serving with only one person to help him out, his wife. I was super impressed.
"Hello sweetie you must be Susanna we were expecting you to come here sooner but I see our nephew has been neglecting us. Here have some homemade vanilla bean ice cream."

They shove a bowl of ice cream in front of my face saying "Manga manga" (eat in italian) and so I ate it and Todd paid for me. Now apparently he was a real ladies man because so many girls hurried to his side or cat called and all that jazzy stuff but he and I dodged into a alley leading us to a road and when at the end there was a beautiful waterfall with lots of woodland creatures almost like a fairytale.
"So those are your grandparents?"
"Yeah they can be embarrassing sometimes but you got to love them."

"No they were awesome! Thank you for making this the best day of my life."

"No problem."
In the way heading back we saw
A carnival sign hanging on a bulletin board for all to see.
